I always find it interesting, with regard to DS games (as well as most of the “DS-Like” games), that they seem to implement some amount of platforming yet they continue to omit dedicated jump button functionality; or they include some janky iteration of it. It would be nice to see that aspect be improved, along with consistent/better aiming/precision mechanics (for your ranged weapons and attacks) 🤔

The core From Software games did finally put in a jump button for their last few titles, but it took awhile. I got used to the secondary controls for a jump over time though. And this game does have a dedicated jump button which helps, and honestly the platforming for this game is pretty good. It seems like that aspect of the game is more along the lines of the N64 platforming heyday. Thanks for watching!

Yeah, evidently I was completely in the dark on it lol. After the recording I asked my wife and she knew immediately what it was too…guess I’ve been living under a rock. Or shell in this case lol

I really can’t decide between ps5 or the switch I like the idea of playing handheld but clearly the ps5 version will be prettier or sharper.

Personally I’d go with the ps5 version. The loading times are also a huge consideration for a game like this too. Hope this helps!

@@Ogles thank you for your input I went with my gut and got it on switch hoping they will work on it a bit more . Personally I can deal with the load times just don’t like studders

The Steam Deck might be to your taste in that case

@@Jonen560ti not a bad option I did have one but I found I was always plugged in . I got the ps5 version and if I really want handheld I can play w the portal .

I only have a switch light, and the performance isn't that great. It's not entirely unplayable, but it is very difficult to play enjoyably without the assist modes to help it out.

Yeah, it's not unplayable and it's what I'm doing my full playthrough on, but there are some areas that are really rough. Even last night when I was playing, it closed out as soon as I finished off a boss and I had to refight the battle. Hopefully future patches will help it get better though.

The switch run awful if you get on switch first and regret it just use it as an excuse to use assist mode and equip gun, but I’m not stopping you if use it on any other platform

I really do wish I had of bought it on the ps5 instead, and maybe if it goes on sale enough I’ll swap over. And the gun easy mode is pretty wonderful, lol, never seen a soulslike just give you one shot mode on everything 😂
