The ivy growing on the first one gives it a mysterious aura. Like something you see in the movies. The second to for that matter.

Definitely agree there hehe, it's a great place, some say it's quite the haunted place...but we just got abandoned, uncared etc but it was fantastic to see how nature was reclaiming its place. Ogmore was gorgeous, such a cool castle ruin. Thanks so much for watching and commenting

No way! I didn't realise you could actually walk up to the 1st floor of Candleston Castle 😮 I thought it had just caved in! If I ever go back I'll definitely check that out! Great video and I'm gutted there was no footage of anyone falling into the river off the stepping stones 😉😂

Loved visiting the ruins of both castles with you Pinned. We would love to walk though but this is the next best thing. Love to imagine the people who were there many years ago and Candleston Castle did feel a little spooky. Ogmore Castle was stunning and so much still remains. Loved the history and the tour. Another exceptional video and a 241 to boot, superb editing, narration and music choices, the switch up between drone shots and walking shots is literally seamless now, on an earlier drone shot it took me a while to realise we were flying. The research you guys do and the dedication to get there so early is second to none. Its why your channel is THE only place to go for Castle tours!

amazing footage of that castle ! it's looks like it was a big castles ! i love castles as i have filmed a few in Belgium myself .. when i see these ruins i always try to imagine how it must have looked like in its prime days with the banners and shields decorations

This is fascinating. Hard to believe this dates back to 14th century! Inhabited for so long, modified and added onto through the centuries, but then left to ruin... I appreciate your very thorough filming and detailed explanation. Then on to Ogmore -Nice beginning, with you opening the wood gate, then climbing the beautiful meadow to the ruins. Looks like a perfect day to visit these amazing ruins. 1116? WOW. The ditch is brilliant - fills at high tide! So very much to see here... You've won a new friend - L 81, and S 753!

Majestic place, amazing architecture, and remained in a relatively good condition too, I loved that first castle, history was just as interesting. Too bad we don’t rebuild these to restore their past glory to what they deserve. Hungary for example started to rebuild the old castles, most of them got blown up by the Habsburgs after the revolution and got bombed during ww2, but now they invest in them. Imagine if this could be reconstructed too!

Such a cool castle and great job with the castle tour! I am very fascinated by the history over there. All buildings in the western USA is very modern compared to this. I can only imagine what these castles would have looked like when they were built! I enjoyed how over grown the ivy is on the first castle. I would not want to go there in the evening alone either. The Ogmore castle looked really cool, I am amazed how much is still standing. You did a fantastic job presenting the history!
