That one time the Halflings hired the ogres to defend the moot from averland. Guts big and small unite.
@big_tymerro20 күн бұрын
I don’t think it’s one time, Ogres and Halflings actually have very good relations with each other in the Empire, both races are outcasts, both enjoy food very much, and even beyond that they were essentially made from the same blueprint by the old ones. Also, Halflings are the best chefs in the Warhammer World, and the Ogres are the hungriest race in the world, they were made for each other.

@@big_tymerroI believe there was one particular time that averland invaded the moor attempting to exterminate the halflings and the only allies the halflings only ally was the ogres of Bloat Feast Master or something like that. If I remember the conflict ended when the elector count of averland took a blow to the head and came to the conclusion that the halflings were on his side and it was all the ogres behind everything.

So the relationship between the Halflings and the Ogres is, to my knowledge, not explicit, and the notion of a connection stems from the fact that they're both fat, generally pleasant when they're not trying to rob you, eating you out of house and home, or just eating you in the case of the Ogres, and the two races get along. This is because Ogres respect people who are big, fat, and know their way around a kitchen, and the Halflings are almost as obsessed with food as the Ogres despite lacking the compulsion of the Great Maw constantly making them ravenous as if they're on the verge of starvation. As for the matter of an Ogre's intelligence? They're not really as dumb as you'd think, they just don't think like humans do. They're weirdly pragmatic, because if they figure out something can benefit them, they're surprisingly eager and able to learn about it, but the particulars of some concepts that they don't deem particularly important are probably going to be lost on them. Like most Ogres understand the concept of currency, but only insofar as 'I can use this to get food', so they can't really be bothered to learn the complex parts of economics because it's not really relevant to them, but if you manage talk to an Ogre and explain how being a businessman can make you a lot of money and therefore a lot of food, and you do so in such a way that actually excites them, that Ogre might go on to actually learn how to be a businessman, and if he finds it interesting enough, that fat bastard might become a goddamn stockbroker and potentially become the richest man on the planet. Presumably, the only thing holding the Ogres back is how naturally laid-back they are their constant need to keep themselves fed and their endless gnawing hunger distracting them.

Agreed. For example, an Ogre that is illiterate is not because they are too stupid to read, but because they have never been given proper motivation to try and read. It's a part of why Maneaters get so into local cultures: something has sparked their motivation to learn about the culture they work for the most, and they dive headfirst into the topic.

They stole enough supplies from an Averland road /bridge project to steal more materials in value than it would have cost to build the damn thing to begin with. This road was going to benefit them arguably more than Averland, and they stole enough to double the cost of the project. I too would hunt them on horseback and beat them like a pinata, which the knights of the black bear did.
