Imagine your physically strong enough to threaten a space marine in melee combat. [There's more to it then that, most ogryns instantly lose to space marines effectively, but if a ogryn smacked a space marine, they'll feel it.] Now imagine you pick up a rock and throw it at someone. Most people Just Die. And rock is everywhere. With that loadout specifically- You don't have something that can take out, say, a person with a sniper rifle. But if you throw a rock at them, they'll die and won't be a problem with your Extremely Close Ranged Weapons.

Have not played Darktide, seems kinda strange that the shield is more of a offensive weapon then the mace in your hand? Does the shield do more damage??? If so 🤦 why even take the mace? Love 40k, but game design does need to hold some logic!

Vermintide player here. I think the melee system has 2 variations. Heavy and quick swings chains that can be mixed. It's possible that the quick chains implies vertical hits with the mace. Good for single targets where the heavy charged swings more of the shield to hit multiple targets. Also it does make sense given it's a giant metal door, not just a shield

yeah its pretty dumb. for some reason the heavy attack is the shield, and the light attack is with the mace. makes no sense. But then again, a lot of the weapons in this game make no sense and feel crappy to use.

How the hell does your sheild and rumbler do that much damage. I've gotten either one with stats in the 60% range, and still the grenade will impact with around 300 damage while the following explosion just does 5 damage, with the shield also barely doing much more damage than one with 10% stats, doing very little damage to anything. The impact grenade launcher's the same way too, where the impacting grenade does several hundred damage but the blast damage is just 5. Great for debuffing hoards and ogryns alike by making them fall over and stumble, or dealing a decent amount of damage to just one singular enemy, but they just simple never did that much damage as shown in the video no matter how high their stats were, what gives?

Grenade gauntlet is for pinpoint shooting and takedown elites while rumbler is for pure crowd control...thats the way

'Cause I swear to god even the best stats, they both not only do the same damage as each other on impact and explosion, but both the impact and explosion is too weak to kill even the cannon fodder. Maybe some reinstalls and integrity checks will debug somethings, 'cause I've been playing the game for a year and never have I gotten the awesome results that you got out of rumbler, lol. Which breaks my Ogryn heart 'cause I really love kabooms.

You dont need all those mods: Ogryns dont have Peril. Your build is your build. there are a few nodes i would take that you could have but spent on connective nodes. but hey if you like missing out on taunt on block/push on you the nodes you didnt take are so much better then the ones you just took off to the side for no reason.

wont lie its a really really fun game just dont develop a case of Stockholm syndrome when Fatshark leaves you for MONTHS without a crumb of information of whats to come or anything content related. Also if you aren't already and you even start getting curious about the 40k universe you've already fallen into the snare that has gotten us all somehow lol.
