Somehow Ogun got left off the Orisha playlist. In this whole series, you have done such a good job at developing brief but pithy introductions to orisha. Thank you! 😀👍

Amazing video! Ogun clears obstacles that get in the way of spiritual growth. He's also the Orisha of barbers, doctors, butchers, blacksmiths, and any occupation that uses knives or blades, or iron tools.

If you look at history it seems that the Orishas are similar to Greek gods and Hindu deities I wonder who came first

It seems each People on this planet believed in power greater than human will power that is human like, yet a divine bridge to the "Creator" of ALL. When I studied World Religions and Mythology, this theme was repeated over and over again in each culture. Each belief reveals much of the People who carried the belief system from generation to generation. I LOVE the morality and transformative lessons of the so called "Nigerian" (the name given to us by the terroristic line drawing for POSSESSION British colonizing invaders) Tribes and our practices of African POWER. It feeds my soul and gives me strength and direction in a very careless and cruel world that seems to repeat atrocities and terrorisms that are foreign and invasive to my spirit and understanding of life. Those who feel inspired by the Greek so called "gods" and the Hindu deities and the lessons they leave for humanity as a guide for living are clearly a part of that belief system. I could NEVER live safely under the direction or domination of any other cultural belief system except my own. I am CLEARLY a child of AFRICA, not GREECE our India. I hope you find your place among the endless belief systems of humankind and learn to respect the DIFFERENCES that gives one a FIRM FOUNDATION of ethics, morals, and centers oneself with a DIVINE COMPASS in a Sea of deception and lost souls as well as observing the obvious similarities that UNITE us all as ONE RACE of humans. Once you understand our interconnectivity, issues like "WHO CAME FIRST", which can be seen as a cultural obsession for a very distinct People who do NOT have the same ethics and morals that I have, become much less important than HOW you RESPECT the differences of others and HONOR those differences with BOUNDARIES and INTEGRITY instead of COMPETING with, and COMPARING by arbitrary and self-profiting RANK and FILE systems that are another cultural NORM for those who have the OPPOSITE cultural beliefs than I do! May you find PEACE and RESOLUTION by our exchange as strangers. Mitakuye Oyasin.

Bless you once again for an EXCELLENT job interpreting my own Ancestral practices! I am Afro-Indigenous to Turtle Island (invaded and colonized by the British, then renamed America in 1776 after over 100 years of tortured and enslaved Africans built the Nation and the wealth streams for and to the dominating European Terrorists who genocided 20 million of the Indigenous People then used BOTH the Africans and the Indigenous survivors to FIGHT and WIN Independence from Great Britain using a base word format of our Indigenous system of Democracy ). Your story of Ogun is so comprehensive that it awakens my innate understanding of my own DNA. My father and mother found out factually late in life that we have Igbo Tribal bloodline like so many Africans that were forced into the Trans-Atlantic Slave Trade to Turtle Island (that was mistaken for India by drunken European lunacy). It is a JOY to listen to you awaken my own Ancestral belief systems that contain the lessons to not only continue to SURVIVE the constant racist terrorism that divides our Nation, but THRIVE within by tapping into the AFRICAN POWER of our immortal lessons of GOODNESS, GUIDANCE, DEVOTION and PROTECTION from DIVINE nature. My fiancee and I so enjoy your channel as we imbue ourselves with out own lost heritage. A TRUE internal reparation that we give ourselves NOW no matter how long it takes for the United States of America to bring JUSTICE to ALL African and Indigenous People of our Nation. Much LOVE to you and much success with your channel and all your endeavors. Aho! Ashe!

Thank you so much I appreciate the support 🙏🏽 and it is a shame. All my life j thought that my family were from Nigeria but I recently found out they were slaves in Haiti. The transatlantic slave trade was bigger than I thought 😬

You left out the part about his violence to women and his rapist tendencies. Conveniently. As always. Ogun even tried repeatedly to rape his own mother. Some say he did succeed. Some say Eleggua saved her.
