This song has been a favorite since childhood and it popped up on the opening screen just as I needed a pick-me-up from my darkness God works truly in wonderful ways and used you for his purpose. I've been a fan of Sam for a while now. I told myself that I'd start supporting him on Patreon as soon as I got my first official paycheck. Then I found this song, listened to about 100 times in 24 hours (it was just playing non-stop), and it brought me so much joy that I just had to start supporting him, 3 weeks before I graduate! The entire song is just so happy. That smooth-as-butter baritone bass at the start, a cheeky little whoop at 1:36, that perfect (and mind-blowing) glissando at 2:42, _that_ high note at 3:05, those key changes, the soul Sam brings to the entire thing (especially from 2:10 when he just can't resist dancing), and those last 20 seconds of out-of-this-world musicality when Sam even starts beatboxing that just make your heart dance. And of course, Sam's trademark multitracking brilliance. Thank you for your music. Don't ever stop.

I do. The first tune I ever heard him sing was "How Great Thou Art." Absolutely blew me away like no one else besides Eva Cassidy. First thing I ever heard her sing was "Over the Rainbow." I'm doing a 365 Days of Music challenge, and I picked this for Day 198! Thought I'd share the note I wrote on it here: Day 198: "Oh Happy Day! - Acapella Arrangement..." A soulful, joyous song. After catching my grandfather (possibly) sing a line of it on the way home from church, I ended up singing the first three lines or so of the chorus several more times on the way home and through the house when I got home. Figured I ought to listen to the rest of it! At 3:10, the song explodes with joy and excitement and praise and triumph. This is indeed an "Acapella Arrangement," for the most part... But Robson hints in the description (perhaps even in the title with the ellipsis) that this is not just an "Acapella Arrangement." By the end of the song, that becomes very obvious -- and having more than voice joining in for the finale just feels so right. Joy and worship can spread. And what a happy day it is when it does. Sam Robson is a talented young man with a deep-set passion for song and what he sings about. That talent frolics here and is awe-inspiring. There are many blades in this world, but this is a finely sharpened edge, its handler carefully trained in wielding and maintaining it -- and he'll cut straight to the heart. May God lead and bless Mr. Robson.
