Great to watch, you paced that really well.

Thx! That flat bit in the middle broke the pace a bit though.

Very solid. I enjoyed this route as well, and it's a good one for the occasional indoors ride on the free 25km/month in the summer. The average wattage and sectors do help with the psychological journey of hard efforts, going from "it's so easy" to "I'll never make it" to "I still have a bit left".

Yes!!! Loved those sectors.

Do not underestimate the second part of this climb. It’s super steep!

I did wonder where all the red was but you saw me right, at the end there, Gerben! 🎉 Cracking effort and I am sure you will be back and get those numbers ever higher! 💪 🚲 ⛰️

Great ride, dreading having to ever go up this hill! 😂 I know how much you love a Zwift cheater, watch A. Polish rider who finishes just after you, that whole last section he was microbursting what a loser!

LoL! A is the new Polish cheat formerly called K! :) I saw him. He is nuts!

Amazing pacing Gerben 👏 Might try it out this week and hope to hold 230w or try for more if my legs are good.

Go for it! Do a decent warmup before you try this one!
@tathh25315 ай бұрын
@@RideWithGerben Thanks for the tip on a good warmup. I did a 55 minute one and then rested for a couple of minutes before starting Oh Hill No 👍 17:35.35! A new FTP of 234w 😲Some jump from my old 217w FTP! I'm well pleased 😁

Hi! Select the Route called "Oh Hill No" in Watopia in the main screen of zwift. It brings you right to the start of the climb.

not trying to be rude, but i think your power would be higher if you getting used to do efforts on higer cadence, all that grinding produces so much more fatigue metabolites on the muscles
@RideWithGerben5 ай бұрын
Nope. Not rude. This is how my muscles work. High cadence is not the answer that was once spouted. It can be for some, don’t get me wrong. However for me it’s not it.
@drewbuffington5 ай бұрын
Most of the indoor elite cyclists I know stand for efforts and grind. We even prescribe standing drills to our training protocols now. Likely due to the shorter racing duration inside this approach works for higher power. I took my 20min power from 4.5w/kg to over 5w/kg getting comfortable out of the saddle. If you watch the Zwift Climb Championship for example a lot of guys you can see are standing for almost the entire Alpe grinding. If you go look at Duffys rides (current US National Champion indoors) his cadence is always in the 60s. Outdoor and indoor are just different animals.
@diogonascimento64705 ай бұрын
@@drewbuffington i agree with trainning in lower candence for greater torque, but when we talk about seated power in racing no one doing theirs best watts on 60 rpms.Its very different doing lower rpms seated vs off the saddle.
@drewbuffington5 ай бұрын
@@diogonascimento6470 I just told you a lot of indoor elite cyclists do their best power standing. Including me. Including my two training mates currently on Team USA. Including a guy that just averaged 6.4 w/kg for 34min. What else can I say?
@Second2475 ай бұрын
@@diogonascimento6470 Well it's good that Gerben holds 70+ cadence then.
