I absolutely LOVE the way you decided to bring this dialogue from Matthew 23 to life. (Just found out earlier today that this scene was based on that chapter haha) This scene and that chapter are so good! It’s one of those moments in the bible that is way way way more entertaining than any sort of “reality”/drama TV show ever could think of being. One of those moments where you just sit back and go “WOAH! Ok Jesus! You tell those pharisees!” but you also check yourself to make sure you aren’t being one of those hypocrites that Jesus is calling out 😅 Thank you guys for continuing to make such a quality production, keep up the good work!

Let me ask you this, because it is a question that quite frankly makes me doubt the whole idea of the Trinity, and that is: If Jesus was God himself, then why didn't he just say so? Why did he always talk about himself as being sent by another? That being said, both at Jesus baptism and during the transfiguration, a voice was heard from heaven saying that Jesus was his son. If Jesus is in fact God, as the Trinity claims, then who did that voice belong to? And how can God be in two different places at the exact same time? Before you ask, yes I do believe, however if something doesn't make any logical sense, then I question it.

I've watched many Christian movies, and have seen Jesus portrayed by many actors, but the compassion, passion, straight forwardness, and even the lighthearted and funny side Jonathan Roumie exhibits throughout the entire series is exactly what I would expect of Jesus. I love the way the crowd and the disciples are looking back and forth between Jesus and the Pharisees and one another while all this is going on! The disciples have hitched their wagon to this Jesus train, and they may not be ready for the direction it's taking them in at this moment. And some in the crowds are coming to the realization that they're going to have a pick a side. Neutrality is not an option. I love how this show helps me to think again about a passage I've read hundreds of times.

It’s not. Do you not understand that this is a show. There are plenty of things that Jesus said, and did that were not recorded in the Bible. I believe one of the gospel writers mentions this. The Chosen is trying its best to remain faithful to the original writings from the gospel, but for the sake of making good television, they have to ask themselves what is some thing that could’ve been said. And they are not trying to pass it off as something that Jesus absolutely 100% said. But you and me have brains and we can conclude that this is a line that would not be out of Jesus‘s character, more than likely. He called out the Pharisees numerous times and had plenty to say about them and their hypocrisy. So it is not entirely out of the realm of possibility that maybe Jesus could’ve said at some point a phrase similar to I am just getting started.
