Unbelievable, to uncover more coins off less acreage is amazing. My oldest was a William the Lion short cross and stars penny circa 1160-1215. Your dig however, over a single day is just stunning, pat yourselves on the back. I've never seen so many stunning coins come up in the one day and that they are mainly higher denomination coins. I wish I was closer to you geographically, I'd be with you on every dig. What a fabulous day's detecting!! How many hammered's were found in the end? Only started detecting last March, so still a novice. Found my oldest coin to date at the weekend, a Queen Anne silver sixpence lovetoken, well chuffed with that find 👌

@@unearthed-detecting-tv i found my first gold coin last weekend. I have about 10 or 15 hammies, a very low average since i started detecting in 1972. My son has found four in 10 years. I guess were just not lucky enough to live in a good area, Cheshire is quite barron really..
