They kinda are playing parts in a movie. They’ve got a running storyline that spans several music videos. ATEEZ are basically playing as inter-dimensional anarchist pirates in a dystopian society.

Hi Nera! I got that feeling with the Anarchy symbols and the elaborate backgrounds of the scenes, I'm glad my hunch was right. Knowing there is an overall story ark will make watching the older videos more fun now :D

They get a lot of inspiration from old bands and singers, but also TV shows, animes, and movies, so they are very story driven and cinematic, always trying to express a message. Their mv's are the best out there!

I can see the anime and manga/comic inspiration inspiration for sure. This video is definitely one of the best I've ever seen.

Thank you for reacting to ATEEZ. They have a heavy storyline/lore since debut. To make easy for the first time knowing them, you might watch The World series in order. For this era/ THE WORLD series, the order of the songs are Guerrilla - Halazia - Bouncy - Crazy form. If you watch these video in order, you will find the connection in term of storyline, songs and mvs. Guerrilla - they manage to entered the Stictland (Dimension Z which the place where any emotion and arts are forbidden). They use music to intercept the device that control people emotion and mind. The end of the MV, escaped kid from Prestige Academy asks them to save his brother. Halazia - this is the spin off for this series. Its pov from the witness. The 'blue bird' appeared for the first time here. Bouncy - After they enter the Strictland, 8 of them undercover with different identities and preparing to get inside Prestige Academy. They managed to kills Android Guardian in this mv. They use chilli pepper to smuggle the bullet. Crazy Form - I supposed they are in Prestige Academy. They all are on their mission. And this song sounds like a victory after they manage to take over the place. Idk if there will be an epilogue or something from this era/series coz from the diary version of the album, it still unfinished story 😅 Also, do not stop the MV until the end because they always have extra thing at the end of the mv which a snippet for the next storyline/song.

Ok so like a Marvel movie with the hidden ending, I like that :D Thank you for the order in which to watch the videos. I'll make sure to watch them soon.

Thanks for checking Ateez out its always awesome to see people experience them for the first time! They're very unique I feel in both sound and choreo from a lot of other kpop groups and they never ever disappoint when it comes to live performances. As far as "roles" in this specific mv, the overarching storyline is basically they live in an extremely repressed dystopian society where emotion is basically outlawed and eliminated (very similar to the movie equilibrium with christian bale if you've seen that), so they formed a resistance group of anarchist pirates to fight back. In this mv we are just seeing them in action essentially so it was def great lore-wise on top of just how amazing the song is cause it's ateez and they always bring their best! Other Atiny have already recommended you watch the other mvs in the series, but I would also say to definitely check out their live performances too! They really shine on stage I feel! Thanks again for checking them out i will def be subscribing I like your vibes!

Be ready to enjoy a LOT of "first time hearing" experiences in music with Ateez. They make some of the most fun music to listen to. It's completely unpredictable, there are times when it shouldn't work, but somehow, it always does.

Thanks for the reaction! If you want to see some more of their more cinematic videos, try in this order Guerrilla, Halazia, and Bouncy. Here is some more information if you are interested: They have a lot of references to movies strung through their videos including 1984, Equilibrium, Inception, Money Heist, and many others. Ateez has an entire storyline that is carried through almost all of their tracks, MVs, and live stages starting from their 2018 debut. It is pretty complex but the basics are they are a form of multidimensional, time traveling pirates (think more like underground, government overthrowing pirates than sea pirates, but they do incorporate some traditional pirate elements). There is World A (our world) and World Z (Strictland…where they are in this video). In Strictland, emotions, art, and music are banned. There is a movement to overthrow the government, which is what is happening in this video. The MVs stand alone, but if you want to know more about where they are in the lore, you can react to the related trailers and teasers along with the videos: Guerrilla (the battle begins) - The World Movement Trailer 1 - The World Movement Trailer 2 - Guerrilla MV Halazia (this is a spin-off that shows the beginnings from the point of view of people that were there) - Spin Off From the Witness Prologue - Halazia MV - Spin Off From the Witness Epilogue Bouncy (they are in hiding with different roles… this is the release right before Crazy Form) -The World Ep. 2 Outlaw Official Trailer -Bouncy Despite their incredible MVs, Ateez is actually know for their incredible live performances. Dance practices and stages are popular. KQ is the company they are under and are know for being pretty reactor friendly. I haven’t seen a reactor have any issues with any content from their channel. They were just on the MAMA AWARDS 2023 and did an amazing tongue-in-cheek cinematic performance of Bouncy + Crazy Form (the longest video). However, MNET is known for blocking reactions, so if you’d have to cloak it if you wanted to reaction to that.

Ahh no wonder there was a pirate ship signal in the air of the video..that makes all the sense in the world now! Thank you for the explanation and for the list of videos. I'll watch them in that exact order.

thank for reaction to ateez! 2023 has been an amazing year for them and they’re finally getting the recognition they deserve! I hope you will be reaction to more of their music. also, if you’re interested, they’re known to be some of the best performers in the kpop industry right now, to the point where it’s common calling them ‘possessed’ when on stage because they get so in character, so I suggest you’d check on of their performances out! 🫶🏻

Glad you like this! I swear if you deep dive into ateez, you're gonna love them. They are one of the few kpop groups that has no skips on their album. You absolutely need to hear their b-side tracks too! I suggest if you listen to b-side tracks to use the COLOR CODED Lyrics on YT instead of the audio only. + I especially recommend the ATEEZ Outlaw album (This World, Dune, Bouncy, Django, Wake Up, Outlaw)

Hi Kelly, there will absolutely be more ATEEZ videos here. I'm going to have to do a deep dive with them. Any recommendations?

@@LouThunderBomb Cool. For a deep dive, start from the beginning with Pirate King and Treasure. You will be amazed because they were already awesome and you will also be able to see clearly how much they have grown in the past 5 years. I know a lot of people will recommend the title tracks, but I also recommend the b-sides. For me, ATEEZ never misses - all their songs are amazing. Hope this helps.
