wasn't strength sap always the play on sableye? because if it uses taunt, then nothing gained, nothing lost. You can then use power whip the following turn if it taunts.

In a more equitable and long-term match, probably. Game lasted 17 turns though, and freezai knew what the timer would likely look like. In a quick match, damage on the enemy is more valuable than health on your own mons.

Drain punch on mimikyu is better than wood hammer with life orb, grass coverage is nice but you can only use it once basically. Especially true with life orb.

That was very impressive considering you had the type disadvantage the entire time. If the shoes were on the other foot you'd have probably won much faster given the same teams. Would be a funny exhibition rematch if ever they wanted to play it with you. Would watch if you posted it though. :)

I paused when only kingambit was alive and tried to find the win and yeah, unless you got some crazy thunderbolt paralysis, that was losing for sure Not having drain punch on mimikyu is really tough for the dark matchup but you played super well

As a ~1500 elo monoghost player I can confirm that given equal skill level, a dark type team with offensive staples (kingambit, chien pao) and defensive staples (skuntank, ting lu) beats any ghost type team 10/10 times

Chandelure is not in SV but it would die to Kingambit's Sucker Punch anyway. I think Drain Punch Mimikyu would most likely be the best thing to dedicate to try to create a Kingambit check but it's already overstretched against everything else and that's after a customization that presumably is already making the team weaker on average. This matchup is so bad that it might make sense to accept taking the L at team preview.

I would have gone fluttermane on the Greninja after mimikyu fainted. Powergem ohkos gren and chien pao and gives u an extra mon to play around sucked punch. Still really hard to win from that scenario though

Why not sub at the end? If you guess wrong you get to try again a few more times. Getting Will-O wrong once instantly loses.
