When he goes, "Hehehe," all I can think about is The Elf from the old arcade game, Gauntlet. It had four stations to play, one of the first of its kind. You could be The Warrior, powerful in melee combat but slow as molasses, or The Valkerie, good with both ranged and melee weapons and average speed, or you could be The Wizard, best at ranged combat but poorest at melee with average speed, or you could be The Elf. The Elf was the fastest character on the board, and when he was a greedy s*@t by snarfing up all the loot and food, he would make a "Hehehe" sound that very closely sounds like Eric.

When reviewing the game, I noticed the engine mentionned something about Stafford, then I remembered I had already seen your videos about you doing this trap... I can't believe I saw you doing this trap so many times and actually ran into it myself..

If this gambit is not the Rosen gambit, then idk what to say. This might not be a Rosen variation bc there are better traps that could be called the Rosen variation. Also Eric gained no rating from that but gained 3 or 5 tournament points and some pride.

Maybe if a master blunders a queen out of a pin don’t take it. Even if it’s a legit blunder just don’t take it out of respect. These should be written about in chess books
@spencersearls3500
@spencersearls3500 2 жыл бұрын
I disagree, especially in tournaments. Obviously I’m not even remotely close to be playing on par with gm’s, but if I get a position in which my opponent, regardless of who it is, blunders a full queen, you’d best believe I’m taking it. I think playing differently just because your opponent is someone respected or honored is already setting yourself up for failure. It’s a good mindset to play the board and the position, not your opponent.

Thats a terrible idea, if the best move is to take a queen, you should tale the queen
@devonrutledge6118
@devonrutledge6118 2 жыл бұрын
Even if you don't take you are completely losing, so if anything in this case it is better to take the queen and mate yourself so you can play someone you actually have a chance at beating.

If a piece is "blundered" to you, but leads to you getting checkmated if you take, it's not a blunder.

@@VividBoricua it sometimes is. A piece may be blundered and whilst takeing it may be forced mate, it may actually significantly weaken the position if not taken
