This message is so pointless since cat owners are either living in cities or feed their pets with wildlife anyways. My cat was a squirrel and bird killer. One day, he caught a squirrel and ate it. Then, he went back hunting and caught a second one. He brought back the squirrel in front of me and start doing what he did with the first one : he crushed the squirrel head with the power of his jaw,😅 chew it and swolled it. He did the same with the remains of the squirrel's body, but had no more room when he arrives at the tail. After all, that was his second grey squirrel in less than an hour! My cat name was Simba. I miss him.

The squirrel is actually aware of the cat but it doesn't take it as a threat coz the cat is probably less efficient to bring it down. Even the cat itself knows the aftermath & trying to induce fear to the squirrel by exposure despite the opportunity it had to make an ambush, the instinct tells it that squirrels ain't such easy meals like rats & might leave me nursing some injuries.

Actually I've seen a kitten climb a papaya tree even to the top (more than 5 meters) because he was afraid of dog attacks. But it could not descend by retreating. The only way is to jump or free fall down. Yes, it was done in a state of urgency. But how under normal circumstances, I don't know.

I remember when I saw a cat snatch up this really huge squirrel and ran under a car with it. I ran over to the car, throwing pecans, hoping it would loosen its grip and the squirrel could get away. After about 30 mins, it finally got tired of me throwing pecans and let go of the squirrel and the squirrel ran as fast as its lil plumpy legs could carry it up the tree. Poor squirrel, it only lived to die another die.
