This song is a tribute to the country these children are from. They sing about Uganda, their motherland, described as the "Pearl of Africa" by Winston Churchill in his book, "My African Journey" and Uganda truly is a gem to anyone who visits. These children have such passion and such zeal for life despite their pasts, all thanks to the Lord God Almighty of whom they sing praises daily.
This footage was recorded during the Mwamba Choir's 2007 Northern Ireland tour to raise funds to purchase land at Maya, outside Kampala, in order to construct a new home and school in the future. The Mwamba Choir are all orphans or underprivileged children staying at Rock Childrens Family Home in the Buziga area of Kampala.
