So I met this woman more than a year ago and started mentoring her to prepare her for a job in the creative field and about half a year after I first met her, we were able to become workmates and sat by each other since then. We would have lunch almost everyday and hangout with other friends from time to time. Throughout most of our friendship she was in a long term relationship so I knew my place and set boundaries. But I still cared about her like a big brother and I really believed it was just that. These past three months has been mostly a torment. From the time I realized that I've been blindsided by a feeling of love and affection which intensity I've never had before to the weeks where I just had to come into grips that she and I will never ever be. Though I didn't fist fight the mirror, I did cry a river. An ocean. I cried almost every day of January. Now I'm just letting time pass hoping for the better. I'm still in love with her, but right now, I think it would've been better if we never met each other.

You'll get through this bro. I'm now experiencing the same thing, falling in love with your workmate who sadly doesn't feel the same about you. I tried to stay away from her to heal, but we're workmates, we work together day in day out, so I need to be professional. It's like a never ending cycle of emotional roller coaster. We can't blame her, and we definitely couldn't blame us for having feelings. Getting blindsided sucks, we wish we wouldn't have to know her in the first place, but life must go on.
