@@astraeli So, in their own words, Critical Role is where a bunch of nerdy ass voice actors play Dungeons and Dragons. It features Ashley Johnson, Liam O'Brien, Taliesin Jaffe, Marisha Ray, Laura Bailey, Travis Willingham and Sam Riegel as the players, and Matt Mercer as the DM. They played one D&D campaign through to completion, the Vox Machina, and are now currently playing the Mighty Nein campaign. The group play as a variety of characters of their own devising, and Mercer is responsible for giving them enemies to face, challenges to overcome, and a world to traverse. Without spoiling, Mollymauk Tealeaf is the character played by Taliesin Jaffe, and is a bright purple tiefling (half human half devil), with a garish red coat and a pair of scimitars, who has a very hedonistic yet endearing personality and acts as more or less the teams' moral compass.

The DM is Matt Mercer, one of 8 absolutely amazing people featured on the show. You'll recognize their voices in an instant if you play many video games or watch dubbed anime. The stories are engaging, the characters are diverse and interesting, and the emotions are real. If you've got time I'd highly recommend it. You can either watch the current campaign (you don't need to have watched the first to understand) or, if you want to start from the very beginning (a very good place to start) the first campaign is also entirely on KZbin.

Here because of the Critical Role animatic and music video for a character and series I don't know or watch, but love all the same. Isabelle W a very close friend of mine took his own life a month ago. The evening of his death he posted this on fb as one of his top ten favourite songs. It was definitely a need for comfort though no one suspected what he was going to do. He spent an evening with each of his friends and family in the week leading up to it. I'm glad he spent one of those evenings with me. I miss him so much

The whole group is there. Gathered around him. It's so nice to see us all together, he thinks, even if it's the last time. He's standing there, but they can't see him. He should be cold, he doesn't have his coat, but he can't feel it. He sees them all there, and smiles. Looks like he made the world better after all, and if not, he knows they will. He sees Jester putting the card down, and he tries to pick it up, but his fingers go right through. He sees everyone sad and he comes closer. He comes to Caleb and he tries to wipe his tears away, but even though he's so close to him, it feels like they are miles and miles apart. He tries to ruffle Notts hair and it's like pushing magnets together facing the wrong sides. He tries to pat Fjord on shoulder, but his hand goes straight through him, the image of Fjord swirling like ink in water. He sees Yasha walk away and stands in her way, and even though she walks straight through him, he tries to hug her as she does. Not to try and come back, not in disbelief. He is calm. He is smiling. He's not being desperate. He's saying goodbye. And as they are crying, he steps on his own grave, happy tears running down his lavender face, mixed with his own blood. What I personally feel from this song is that moment when you are down, feel alone, and you need your friends but they aren't there or you can't ask for their help but then you remember their love for you and it makes you stronger in that moment (even if just a bit). Atm they are not with you, but your shared love gives you hope, and then by the end you are really talking with them, asking for their help.

I just discovered this song, and I am in tears. Not because of critical role, but for something else. I just got seperated from the Air Force due to anxiety. I tried fighting my case, but my rebuttal got denied. I made my peace with going home. However, the flight that I was with was amazing. They supported me every single day I was there. I miss them very much, because they were some of the most amazing friends I have ever had. I am happy to be home, but my heart grows heavy when I think about them.
