I loved seeing my favorite music artists as guest stars on my favorite shows during the 1980s. 🙂 This song, "Baby Love" by Regina, and "Into the Groove" by Madonna, are songs I lip-synced to for my guests, during my 80's themed birthday party. 😊

This song was featured in the movie, Party Monster and had a slight resurgence with that film. It's a biographical movie about the rave scene, club kid scene of the early 90s and stars Macauley Culkin (Home Alone, My Girl) in one of his first adult roles and Seth Green (Austin Powers series as Dr. Evil's son, Scott Evil). They play a pair of club kids, Michael Alig and James St. James respectively, and the movie features their drug-fueled escapades in the NYC underground club scene. Party Monster is based off the book by St. James called "Disco Bloodbath" and details how Alig had murdered his drug dealer and sentenced to prison. The film came out in 2004. He released in 2015 after his sentence but died in 2020 from an OD.

You should check her out in her band, SSQ. They were part of the "techno Pop", dance scene. Their song Synthicide is pure electronic dance tune. Lots of keyboards and even the electronic drums, which where a big thing in the 80's for a while. SSQ was played a lot in the techno dance bars. Lots of lights and neon. It's a good video to catch. They did quite a few more. You'll want to stay away from Screaming in my Pillow, and the original, Tonight (We'll Make Love Until We Die) Return Of The Living Dead Music Video. Both have a fair amount of nudity. Screaming in my Pillow has much more. They did redo a video in 2011 for Tonight, and it has no nudity. So it's a fun one to see with the family. The 80's had so many different types of music. It was a great time to grow up. Be good for another female Friday.
