Every time the commentator refers to the silver and bronze medals as the "minor medals", I want to scream. It sounds so dismissive. Receiving any medal at the Olympics is beyond amazing!

Why do so many American women not acknowledge the crowd that is supporting them? It takes two seconds! I was so happy for Yui winning in her home country! Bravo!
@sammy456545652 жыл бұрын
because they're in their heads about not having won. they have high expectations as american swimmers - both wanted to win. so they're not as aware of the expectation for them to appeal to the crowd and find it harder to act happy when really they're not that happy. seems ironic given they just won olympic medals, but if they wanted medals of a different colour it's not as satisfying as they had hoped it would be. success is relative
@surreal79633 жыл бұрын
kaylee mckeown probably would've won this if she didn't drop it considering the relatively slow winning time and the fact she had the fastest time in the world in 2021, but kudos to Ohashi, you have to be in it to win it..
@malikathariqbal80133 жыл бұрын
Ur comment is just hilarious. McKeown is an excellent swimmer, if she could have done it than she would have never dropped it. It's time to praise Ohashi, she was brilliant, it would be better to stop assuming what could have happened. Cause, in real what happened is, can b seen in this video
@surreal79633 жыл бұрын
@@malikathariqbal8013 mckeown went the fastest time in the world in the 200IM at aussie trials and remained #1 in the World for the rest of the season, she dropped it because it clashed with the 100 Back in the Tokyo schedule not because she thought she wasn't going to win.
@staycurious6443 жыл бұрын
Just came to comment the same thing! She has the 2021 record for the 200IM. The schedule did not work in her favour.

@@malikathariqbal8013 Their comment is not hilarious. It’s correct. Do your research.
@remylennon41853 жыл бұрын
@@surreal7963 exactly, Kaylee posted the fastest time and proved herself to be extremely formidable. However, at the end of the day ohashi did win it, and there’s no way of knowing if kaylee would’ve won it if she had swum it. We can only assume.
