Mikaela, You likely want to make it to at least 100 wins; and I am sure you will. However, I do know you reasonably well by now. Thus I could recommend you highly for medical school, if you decided you wanted to go that route, especially since your father and mother were/are in medicine. As it happens any number of people I know from my younger years are fairly highly placed in running medical schools. I could recommend you directly to them. Then there are any number that I do not now as well that I could recommend you to. You are arguably the best ski racer to ever strap on a pair of skis. Your concentration and your work ethic are legendary. You might have to take some science classes; but I think a lot of medical schools would want to admit you. There are a few that have a college and medical school curriculum of 6 years instead of 8 years. You might want one of them. Or you might want to go to some place like Dartmouth where the US Ski Team already has a great reputation (and you might get to skip a fair amount of college type of classes). You might still have to take a few preliminary classes. If you want to go to Dartmouth Medical School, one of my classmates (and a friend) from St. Paul's School is a professor of Surgery there. I think at one point he was a Dean. He was a good athlete in high school. I am sure he would like you as a candidate. Let me know if you want to try to use him; I could call him to see if he would help you, although I am really sure he would. There are others who are not at Dartmouth. I could check with a few people. I have not kept good track of everyone. Mike Roizen, an old squash pal of mine and a best selling author of diet books, is the Chief Wellness Officer Emeritus of the Cleveland Clinic. It is part of the Case (Western) School of Medicine; and there is also the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine, which is a more research oriented school (and a 5 year program after college). Mike was a highly rated squash player, who also attended Williams College (from your ski high school area). You and he would like each other. There are many more; and no these folks weren't all so highly placed in the days I was applying to medical school. Plus I did not know where many of them were. That was mostly before the Internet was so robust. Mike would help you, especially with my backing. He is a great guy. Let me know if you decide you want me to contact them and to perhaps go full out. I am not trying to direct you to medical school. But Petra is injured. You are injured. Lara Gut is probably not that far from retirement, etc. It just occured to me that you might want to reconsider Medical School at this time. I am again not trying to direct you there.
