@@LordVader69420 revert the handling change on the stalwart and it’d be pretty damn balanced. Light armor penetrating with poor handling is a very limiting combination. The mg43 would need a lot more changes, it’s probably best as a support.

Funny part about this is that they lowered the MG kills by a decimal because they suddenly realized how hard it is to get a lot of kills with the MG's in this game. Hopefully this was a wake-up call but it probably wasn't since they changed the MO rather then let us fail it.

Its easy to pull out a stalwart, throw an ONB down then see 400 kills at the end of mission and say "JACKPOT!". Also what difficulty was this on cause stalwart is great on 3 and 4 but trash on 6 to 10.

From my experience : The stalwart is fine but it doesn't have a place in the game because there is no primary that do heavy pen to paired with like The mg is fine but need more ammo and maybe damage The hmg need to do more damage against heavy and more ammo and maybe less recoil because right now you need an entire mag to kill a charger and you have only 3 mags total

Give Stalwart penetrator rounds, give the MG heavy pen, give the HMG a multitude of changes including more ammo, less recoil, more damage, and maybe an explosive component? Like Jar-5 rounds or something? Idk. I don't need more rounds with the Stalwart and MG, I just want them to do more with those rounds. Having primaries that do the same work the Stalwart does makes it a fun but mechanically weak option. MG feels pretty good to me but if we buff the Stalwart we can't leave the MG or it becomes even worse relatively speaking.

I think the stalwart as is would be great if you just give it incendiary rounds. And a slightly shorter reload and maybe more ammo. The MG is good imo I just hate the Stationary reload. Get rid of it and give it more ammo. Hmg needs more ammo and more durable damage and more damage. So the idea of something like explosive rounds sounds awesome. Maybe have it do what the liberator explos.... I mean concussive was always supposed to do.

I love the HMG especially against bots but it falls into that mid tier catagoey the AMR falls into. Does high damage but its heavy armor penetration is more so an option than a sign of clear targeting. More so to give you that 100% damage against medium enemies.

When the HMG got the durable damage nerf, it was a patch after it got a chonky boost to its normal damage, so I figured that players were complaining too hard after getting a considerable buff. I owe the community a huge apology. It's not that I haven't given the HMG a try before, especially after the buffs, but in retrospect I may have lowered the difficulty to 6 "so I could learn its kinks before bringing it to the real fight". Now that the MO is making me drag it around despite my discomfort with it, I'm in disbelief of how arbitrary the durable damage nerf was. I want to cry blood with how much ammo and time it takes to destroy bug buildings and kill bile titans. Damage nerf reversal isn't enough. Give it 60 durable damage minimum, maybe 70, which is double the current. Tough stuff will still be time consuming to kill, but the Helldiver bringing it should actually feel like he has an anti-heavy weapon! I honestly respect its ammo and reload drawbacks, as they act as a performance sacrifice to compare against backpack weapons. And just like how a (durable) damage buff would make it feel better to use... I welcome a small buff to the recoil in the spirit of it not feeling like shit to use.

I don’t actually understand the bit here. I’m not a “glazer”, I just really enjoy using these weapons. Yeah they aren’t the most effective, but isn’t fun supposed to be the priority for those who really do enjoy it? I just enjoy the feeling of holding a big ah gun and mowing the hordes. I also don’t play higher difficulties like 9-10, I’m more of a 5-7 type of fella and still really enjoy it when I do run it, just gotta rely on my team for the main heavy kills. I wouldn’t deny the game has issues, it’s been apparent for a LONG time. The HMG is in no way overpowered, compared to its current competition on the big front that’s the MG for what it’s meant to do. The damage can be good, the heavy pen is also good, but holy moly handling and recoil make it objectively in a weird spot. It can’t quite horde clear as good as MG or stalwart, and it’s definitely not a heavy killer as titans and tanks shrug it off. It CAN kill a charger in about half a mag, but that’s if you’re able to specifically target a single leg consistently with its recoil and handling- but compared to other options like recoiless and EAT? Worse. With all due respect, the community can be… absurd at times, and the competitiveness in a PVE arcade shooter is a lot of what’s bringing it down. For those who still find it fun, good for them. For those who’ve been burnt out, that’s okay

because there be those we call glazers crying it overshadow other weapons, even now there are those saying the HMG is perfect and always was perfect even when there was no reticle in 3rd person. All in all the dev don't have a clue and want weapons to be weak but there are clearly vary strong one to choose, grab a magic eight ball for more answers i have no clue what the dev are doing.

It is heavy pen exactly like the magnum. It has the same armor penetration that the revolver currently does. In fact, it's had this armor penetration since before even the revolver did! Still not an amazing weapon though. I don't think it's bad, I think it has a place as a very versatile support weapon that can do a little bit of everything in a pinch at a wide variety of ranges, but handles tasks on the "extreme" end of either anti-superheavy or anti-fodder horde poorly (difficult to take down bile titans especially if they aren't looking at you, and not so great against hunters, cumbersome against trooper infantry on the bot side). I like the heavy stagger against brood commanders though, it's almost comical how far it sends them back before deleting them.

Most notable use of the HMG was popping Titans backside. I did that on Helldive yesterday with the sickle in a pinch with potentially infinite ammo. In light of that they should nerf the Breaker Spray and Pray make it have 1 reserve mag and Eruptor ergonomics. Edit: Also it's too OP against terminid eggs it's slapping them from across the map. I think it's armor pen needs to be reduced.

I love the stalwart, jack it up to 1,100 rpm and gun down mooks fast. Machine gun is . . . Fine. Kills the med bugs you run into better. But having to stop to reload the thing is so, bad. The ammo belt might be realistic in AH's minds but this is a game about shooting thousands of bugs or bots. Having such a realistic ammo count for such an unrealistic situation and forcing stop to reload? Dumb. HMG is bad. It's so bad and I can't stand seeing folks defend it as some misunderstood weapon. It handles bad, the recoil is insane the ammo count and mag count are terrible. I see people say "You gotta tap fire it, just shoot one bullet at a time and it's really manageable" my brother in christ, that is a DMR, not a HMG. "Lower the fire rate to the lowest and it's more manageable". I'd rather wear armor to do that which works to a point but it doesn't help the bad mag capacity because you have to stop to reload or the low mag count. I made it a lot more usable with the engineering kit to manage the recoil but the crap ammo count and crap ammo reserve means you're vulnerable 70% of the time with this PoS because it's not able to keep up with hordes so you're always reloading. And to say it's for heavy killing? It's the worst one out of the lot. Use any rocket launcher, the AMR, anything is better than this thing Speaking of better, HMG emplacement, legit fun and great.
