One more tip: On M+K try tapping the accelerator If you've ever played a racing game that simulates wheelspin with traction control off you'll know exactly what's happening, but if you don't: The car doesn't really have much grip and acts a lot like a RWD, just holding W will cause the gas pedal to be read at 100% all time and make you wheelspin uncontrollably, if you keep tapping, you can very easily control the car, going ever into 2nd gear with no control issues

Another tip - holding down the handbrake while exiting the driver seat will put the FRV's parking brake on, which keeps it from rolling further after stopping. Great for when you need to make a stop on an incline and don't want the car to roll back.

You cant carry items while driving, but you can transport someone carrying the objective item. Only item that is an exception is the larva as its a backpack

If for any reason you get back into your seat when charging a purifier shot when leaning out the passenger doors, it will go off in the cab and kill everyone inside. I definitely didn't learn that myself the other day.

My mother actually did reccomend 1st gear, i told her about the car and she told me that 1st gear has strength to go up hills, and 2nd gear would be for speed, and she was right!

That's real life logic. In a manual 5-gear transmission, you use 1st to start and take off, 2nd to go below ~25-30km/h, usually you use 3rd to climb mild to decent hills at speed and your 4th and 5th are for speeds above ~45km/, depends on the car. If you're on rough terrain, slippery road or you're trying to climb out of snow you parked inside of yesterday, 2nd is your best friend, as you've got relatively more torque on the wheels. Some automatic transmissions might even switch you to 2nd and 3rd if you're frying to climb out of the snow too harshly and spin the wheels, which may hinder your progress. So yeah, the lower the gear, the more torque and climbability (to a degree of)

Indeed it is If you open chat while mounting a gun, it will switch to your primary weapon even though your character is holding a gun. Re-enter the vehicle will fix it. So buggy, but hey, it works. Most of the times. Sometimes. Still loads of fun though.

Yeeah, exactly. The FRV is pretty balanced right now. It takes a lot of skill to drive and can be super useful! And of course Im just glad that you cant insta wipe an entire squad and game over like in Helldivers 1. Vehicles in HD1 were a death trap. It was also a pain in the ass to get in a vehicle in the first place, because just touching it killed you.

I use 1st to avoid spinning when getting moving, then swap to drive when I get some open ground to speed up, then go down to 1 again to maneuver. 1 is still faster than walking, even with no tires, so don't get impatient and take your time to avoid flipping.

Pressing forward/backwards will shift gears between reverse and drive (automatic). You should see buttons on the bottom of the screen to tell you how to shift gears manually, and those will let you stay in gear 1 or 2 until you try to reverse or manually shift back.

drive gear gives you access to the 3rd and 4th gear while you can only manually select 1st and 2nd. Mostly only useful for going fast over long stretches.

there is a bug in the FRV, if open you the mini map while in the vehicle and try to look around and you press UP you will end up consuming stims. I’m on PS5 dont know if its the same on PC. cant tell if other player noticed this. dont know if this also happens with the MECHS🤔❓ I hope this reaches the devs coz it really annoying, I end up consuming all my stims while directing the driver trying to look through the map and marking locations.

I find it handles a lot like the Maco from ME1, it bounces high and rolls easily as it's effectively got no weight. It's not too bad, though I wish it had thrusters like the Mako to make mid air corrections on the bounces

True, so true. There's almost no weight for the simulation, your suspension can't really eat many of the obstacles and you go flying sideways. I find it to be easier to simply stick to manual 1st, and let off the gas. See an obstacle come up, turn away or be ready to bounce and counter-steer to not roll over. If you've rolled over, try to wiggle the wheels to get back up, sometimes it works. It also LOVES driving on two wheels if you're not careful. If it rolls completely, it takes roughly ~20 seconds for it to start burning and blow up. Luckily, there's unlimited cars to summon, just cooldown to limit you
