Dodo needs a little fear in his life. He's been really spoiled until now. Things are changing for Dodo and he is beginning to realize his father enjoys pestering monkeys with scary objects and taking away his bottle. Dodo isn't a permanent pet anyhow, he will be dumped in one year when his cuteness wears off.

The dad scared dodo with something, he must think it's funny and the viewer will enjoy it. Just like him trying to make Dodo walk like a person. How people treat and feel about animals in non western countries are so different.

Serene J are you not over reacting ? I have been watching Dodo channel regularly. He has hardly ever been scared of dogs leave alone their barking from a distance. It was certainly something different and there’s no need for you to take it personally and becoming abusive. Dodo has this far been very adventurous and happy go lucky. This far even the mom and dad came across as genuinely caring ppl. Then suddenly we see a video uploaded yesterday of him being collared by the neck (and not the waist as he usually is) and made to first ‘stand up’ repeatedly and thereafter walk on twos. He was naturally unwilling as it is not natural for monkeys to be bipedal - infact it is harmful for his limbs. You call that genuine love and care? And viewers who are expressing concern psychopaths?and start abusing? Just do a reality check. Viewers have the right to express concern when they are concerned over the treatment met out to dumb wild animals held by ppl who are supposed to be care givers. Remember these are not pets - these are wild animals.

Serene J I have seen a video where Dodo was nudged to stand but that was for a fleeting few seconds and certainly not forcibly by collaring him or prodding him. Not aware of any other videos in which he was trained to go bipedal. I would have have raised concern as it’s not natural and as far as possible these wild animals should be allowed to exist in their natural form so that they can return to their troop and get accepted in the event of their human caregivers abandoning them at any stage, which is very much possible. That is exactly why these aren’t classified as pets by wildlife associations. In my country there are more than 10 species of indigenous monkeys, yet we are not allowed to keep them as pets - these are kept in their natural habitats and humans are urged not to even feed them so that they learn to forage. I had huge respect for Dodos mom especially her patience and the way she would bear up with his snatching her food, her patience in put him to sleep etc. the fact it was only Dodo and not more baby monkeys to add to the milieu. But the last two videos have been eye opener and came out of the blue - when least expected. Mostly because she laughs when he is stressed. Many viewers have been upset . Anyways I guess it is passé to show concern - just adds to stress as there are viewers so content in watching monkeys perform tricks and behave human like that any concern on unnatural treatment met out to these babies by their ‘loving parents’ is treated with contempt and ridicule. So complacent are we in watching these videos after hard days work that we don’t want any controversy and the risk of these being disrupted. Here my purpose was just to flag concern so that it doesn’t get worse which I have a right to as a viewer. If those who upload videos don’t want comments they can always turn that off. Till it is on concerned individuals will give their opinions just as we showed appreciation for Dodos Mom at one point of time. Anyways good day to you.

Tracey Falconer it’s not the question of not liking what they are showing - we liked Dodo that’s why we watched. We felt this female his so called mom loved him and we were impressed. But a recent video that showed his neck tied to a collar to force him to walk on two legs which is extremely harmful for a monkey especially a baby we do have the right to protest and report and take up the matter with KZbin. It’s abusive and these ppl have to desist. Infact all of Dodos fans should also protest. Just because a cute baby monkey believes and trusts his human parents who are taking the viewers for a ride by feeding him and taking care of him while the camera is on and actually punishing him for not perform as per their wishes in order to earn the money, the organisation that is offering them the money and the stake holders that is the viewers have their say and their right. Public should not support cruelty no matter how much these ppl may be feeding Dodo in front of the camera and showing they are protecting him and projecting they are a happy family by frequent laughs doesn’t take away the crime and cruelty on a dumb animal
