I wouldn't say that the last statement was never true... it was certainly true before Ohio industries turned Lake Erie into a toilet bowl. Also, since the water of Lakes Superior, Michigan and Huron eventually flow into Lake Erie, the pollution of the former industries of Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois, Michigan and Ontario also bear some of the blame.

Toronto is what Cleveland would be today had it never stopped growing. In 1960, both cities' had about the same metro area population. Both cities had just opened their first subway lines. Toronto's skyscraper boom had not yet begun. Now Greater Toronto has at least triple the population and a Chinese/South Asian population that is at least as big as San Francisco Bay Area's. Not to mention a skyline that rivals Chicago and a subway system that carries nearly twice as many riders as Chicago's L despite Toronto being a smaller city than Chicago.

Did that not happen over a decade after this was made? I'm not saying you don't have a point, I just genuinely can't remember.

You are correct. The fire didnt happen until 1978 or so, almost two decades after this film.

why would you say that? one of the finest metro areas of the entire midwest, and maybe beyond...usually rates second to Chicago.

Jon Brandison- People feel a need to spout off. Maybe she couldn't get laid enough when she lived in Columbus. Or maybe she got a speeding ticket while just passing through. Whatever her problem, she doesn't know what she's talking about. She's just a troll, yipping and yapping, throwing out her negatively hoping to get noticed. Ignore the trolls. They're not worth the trouble.
