72x36x24... knock out the smaller weir, make a sump out of the smaller section, add your land idea with a wrap around Beach from one corner, around the back to the bigger land area over the sump. Mudskippers, Newt's, frogs... maybe some mollies for color. Few plants here and there. Dabble with some brackish species. Sounds fun to me!

I think that tank would be perfect for a turtle, that would also make it so you dont have to worry about a lid.

it would be. I've never had turtles before. May have to look into it

Great tank / sump the small side of the sump would set up as natural filter with plants kinda like aquaponics letting the water flow into the larger section coming over like a waterfall 👍🏼

I think the divider makes it a really awesome paludarium tank. Are you familiar with vampire crabs? Not crazy popular in the hobby, but they come in really cool colors like bright red, or purple and orange. It could look really cool once it's overgrown with plants. Could be really unique if you did that and a jungle-style aquascape in the water section
@SCAquatics3 жыл бұрын
Yeah, Oddball Aquatics has some vampire crabs. Im thinking 1/3 land/water tank would be pretty cool!

Fast schooling fish are your best bet with fahaka. I have neons with mine. Had Harlequin rasbora in there too but he eventually caught them. Danios very well may work.
@SCAquatics3 жыл бұрын
Yeah, thats why I was thinking of the giant danio. They swim non stop and are fast....

Wow, my sump looks great in your garage.....lol. You guys are killing me! You might get away with 4 gussets in the corners and one 20 inch piece across the center as opposed to a full top....or you can let me have it back...HAHAHAHAHA
@SCAquatics3 жыл бұрын
Joe joe joe.... lol. I was after it way before you! I wanted to originally before I got the 200 cube. Yeah i'm thinking of getting a couple smaller pieces to basically make a rim/gusset the outside edges. Its crazy how expensive it gets for a solid sheet that big.

I knew it was a fahaka as soon as I seen it! I love those! Mine ended up killing some of my tiger barbs bc of the space. I have a spiny eel and river shrimp and small rasbora's with him now just fine. I think space is the most important thing bc they are open water fish
@shadeaquaticbreeder29143 жыл бұрын
I would try to keep fish in with him from the start though. Mine didn't touch any fish until around 5-6"

I kept giant danios with my fahaka successfully for a year or so.but eventually I removed them because they were stressing him out they never sit still LOL which makes them perfect tankmates for a fahaka. Plus danios prefer cooler water where the fahaka really likes it around 78 to 80°... But it worked.
@SCAquatics3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the info. What size was the fahaka when you kept the giant danios with him?
@Ian-qw1zb3 жыл бұрын
@@SCAquatics about 8 to nine inches I put them in when he was five inches. I've tried tiger barbs that didn't work, I had a red tail shark I didn't really know what to do with at one time I tried and found that anything with a bright tail or bright colors he will go after and hunt and stalk non-stop until he either gets it or you take it out. And with his bite it usually only takes one bite to mortally wound whatever it bites. The worst part is mine doesn't even eat fish so he just kills it to kill it for sport... You do have the perfect size to start trying though I'm waited too long.(5inches).. I got mine that small too. Seymour the fahaka about 10 inches now..
@LionChavez3 жыл бұрын
Great video. My unqualified opinion is giant gouramis get too big for this. I wonder again without experience what would 50/giant danios be like. They are active schoalers pretty and possibly confusimg enough to keep the vehahaka uninterested. My .02$ hope whatever you choose os the best answer! Much respect.
@SCAquatics3 жыл бұрын
I didnt mention giant gouramis, giant danios is what I was talking about. I think they are fast enough the fahaka will leave them alone. Thanks for the input Lion!

Feed that little puffer live food, and put a larger tank mate in there right away so he learns to swim with other fish. I have 6 pea puffer's with a bunch of Platty's that have live fry as you know. They do not eat the fry. I wish they did eat the fry. Want some free Platty's??? Seriously need to get rid of about 50 Platty's.

@@shadeaquaticbreeder2914 let me know the exact height you’d want. That height range difference is probably a couple hundred dollars in steel.
