As in Ohio State fan, I had always defended Ryan Day, but after that Michigan Loss, it was really hard to defend him and I really started to question him. I never had any hate for him, but really questioned him after that loss. However, even though he could have given up, he picked himself back up and helped his team go on one of the greatest runs ever. Something changed after that Michigan loss and I feel like Ryan Day will never be the same again. He's still a very young coach and this is his first head coaching job so there's a lot of things to learn but he has gotten them very close quite a few times already and now they finally won the whole thing. Congratulations to the entire Ohio State Buckeyes staff and team

As an Ohio State fan, I was in the same boat. I was one that thought that he would have been fired if he lost to Tennessee and had the ending to the season that they could have had. I got a little nervous towards the end. I know that everything had to go right for Notre Dame to even tie the game to go into OT, but I couldn't help but think about that possibility. I'm glad that team came together like they did and I think Ryan Day takes the experience he gained from going through this and stays in contention for national titles moving forward. As always, Go Bucks O-H!

Good effort ND. I appreciated the sportsmanship and fight. That said, this is the most legitimate Champion we've had because we made them prove it and they did. Waxed the entire field by double digits. Beat 5 top 5 teams over the course of the season (never done before.) and if you take the AP top 8 at the end of regular season, OSU beat 6 (They were ranked 6 and didn't play UGA - These 6 made up half of the playoff field.) Everyone saw what happened. Besides that ND tuddy to start. OSU never trailed in this tournament. It never felt like they were gonna lose. Pretty damn awesome. Leave no doubt was the mantra. Mission accomplished. Go Bucks!

Adult Buckeye fan for longer than most of you have been alive and many of your parents. Remember 1968? Back then the Big 10 actually was 10 teams and widely known as the Big 2 little 8. @paulbegansky565012 күн бұрын
@smit7120 na, the new playoff format makes the regular season LESS important. Just make the playoffs. 12 game season, 3 powderpuff schools. 9 conference game. The 9, OSU is required to play Michigan every year, only team required, so play 8 other schools, big 10 schedule is a joke. OSU will normally be rated very high. Go into Michigan game, if at one loss evaluate the playoff teams, push to win or lose based upon playoff position. This is what the NFL and NBA do every year. It is now, don't worry about the regular season, get to the playoffs, get a favorable match up and win natty.
@paulbegansky565012 күн бұрын
@toolegittoquit_001 wasn't meant to be funny. It is meant to open eyes to possible issues. Again, season important anymore, it is a home playoff game and getting best possible teams seeded in your bracket. Why do people still not understand making an easy road is better than going against georgia?

Congratulations to Ohio State for completing one third of the "Big Ten Trifecta" while losing only two games during the year. Michigan turns over the National Championship, having WON the "Big Ten Trifecta". . . winning ""THE game," winning the Big Ten Chanpionship, winning the National Championship, and going UNDEFEATED during the year.. Perhaps Ohio State could play better next season to try to compare with Michigan success.

It was over at halftime. Game was never in question. ND was completely outcoached and out matched. ND should join a real conference and play some good teams in the regular season so they can be more prepared for real games in the CFP
@toddjohnson27112 күн бұрын
If ND makes that FG its a whole different ending. OSU was getting the yips after fumble. But yes, extremely dominant first half.
@theflew12 күн бұрын
@@toddjohnson271 No, Ohio State would have stopped running the ball up the middle, trying to wind down the clock. ND didn't stop OSU all night. Even the fumble was lucky and close to being down. ND still had to march almost the length of the field to try to get points.
@toddjohnson27112 күн бұрын
@@theflew And they did.....FG makes it 18 and it's a one score game. OSU dominated the numbers except the score could have been very close. They were not great 2nd half.

OSU tried to blow the game, the fumble after the big gain and the PI on 3rd and forever by #1 the most penalized CB in football. That and taking their foot off the gas they let ND back in the game.

That first drive ND looked unstoppable but I think they kind of emptied the tank too early, they definitely were in it up until the end, OSU safety that got the TFL was a big moment swing.

I think Ryan Day out talented them and Chip Kelly out coached them. Jim Tressle was the best coach I’ve seen at Ohio State. He won a Championship in his second season, he bet Michigan, every year, except maybe one. He came in after John Cooper and elevated the program. He was a class act and the only mar on his time was some tattoo scandal, which is nothing in today’s NIL. Insert coach X at Georgia or at Ohio State, both (dumb) smart and day, just don’t mess things up and they are in championship running. They don’t even call the Georgia coach by his last name and no other programs look for him and he is never discussed in NFL jobs, neither is Coach Day..

this 12 team playoff season could have looked much different and more detrimental to college football. If OSU beats Michigan, they had the potential to play Oregon three(3) times in one season. At the end of the third qtr, it was obvious to me that running right at Michigan's def big line was insane. Unless someone was playing to lose. The players sensed it, and therefore the big meeting the following week. If the championship game is Oregon vs OSU for a 3rd time in one season, TV ratings suck and the average fan maybe not tuning in. IMHO someone played to lose the big rival game, and only one other person had to be in the loop...a mediocre place kicker or his holder!

True statement but every sports organization no matter if it’s NBA, NFL, NHL, MLB so on is to win the championship (superbowl, Stanley cup, world series, NBA championship etc) so beating Michigan should always be considered but if losing to Michigan gives us the ammunition we need to win a Natty I’ll take that every year lol
