I will never forget this game because I was there with my cousin. When that game got out of hand he was mad and said let's go. And I said no way. As soon as things started turning around I looked at him and I said are you ready to go now. Every time we inched closer I said are you ready to go now. When we took the lead I said are you ready to go now. When the game was finally over I said are you ready to go now and we just celebrated in the stands with the rest of the fans. It was fantastic. OSU has only won 2 national championships in the last 31 years. Ohio State has a losing record to the top teams in the SEC. 1-3 against Alabama...0-1 against Auburn...0-2 against S. Carolina...0-2 against Florida...0-1 against Georgia...0-1 against Tenn.1-1 against LSU. OSU is 2-10 in Bowl games against the SEC and OSU historically has a losing bowl record. Also Mason Dixie line has nothing to do with winning or losing. Both teams are not playing in their home stadiums and must uproot themselves to play. OSU usually has a crowd advantage when both teams play. Plus OSU cannot compete unless 30% of the players on their roster comes from the South.

I like Tressel but he was absolutely dogged by out of conference opponents, especially the SEC, not trying to troll but we had a few times where the ball bounced our way in that 2002 Championship game, Miami wins that 9/10 times. He also benefited from talent rich Ohio while other Big 10 recruiting was sub par. We cruised through the Big 10 cause of superior talent then got our asses whooped everytime we played an elite out of conference team. Urban is easily the greatest coach in Ohio State history, I just don't understand how people compare the two. He upped the program from a very good program to an elite program and also raised the recruiting level of the Big 10 by taking a more national approach.
@nedstewart14 жыл бұрын
Who can forget when Urban took his Florida Gators and beat Ohio State. With his SEC experience Urban knew Ohio State could not compete against the SEC unless Ohio State had at least 30% of it's roster coming from the South with special attention payed to Texas players. Enough said about regional pride. LSU, Alabama etc. have regional pride and always have 90% or more of their players coming from the South. Ohio State had to lose their regional pride if they were ever expected compete against the SEC.

Its not about stadium size, its about filling the stadium. While your point that people from the south would like to see a white christmas is a good point, because i myself would love to experience real snow, its not good enough of one obviously for the businesses who make the decisions as to where the bowls are located. You act as if the SEC controls it. Also, you must remember that the majority of sec OOC games are scheduled at the beginning of the year, so its very unlikely to go up in nov.

If a team is playing 500 to a thousand miles from their home stadium they have no home advantage whether the game is played in the North or South. Usually Ohio State has the advantage because they travel with a larger fan base. Ohio States problem is when they don't have at least 30% of their roster coming from the South and can't match up SEC speed and talent. The last 3 beat downs Clemson (ACC) beat Ohio State i'll bet Ohio State had a larger fan base at the game. Tell you what. Next time Ohio State plays a top SEC team lets let only mid-west players play for the Bucks and only let Southern players play for the top SEC team. Guess What. Ohio State looses 99% of the time. Have Ohio State fans any regional pride? Why do they root for the Bucks when so many of their players are from the South?

The fact is, most SEC schools really do lack academic prestige. A higher graduation rate doesn't necessarily prove that it is a good school.

All I can say is Ohio, thank you for Joe Burreaux

Never understood why Meyer couldn't adjust his game plan to Burrow (that's how we spell it in Ohio, lol). Kid was NFL ready 3 years ago.

@@davidheilman1928 It took an SEC team to develop him. His Heisman trophy picture will be with him wearing a SEC jersey.

@@davidheilman1928 Yes Urban Meyer and his Florida Gators developed Tebow.

@@nedstewart1 Burrow's pic should be with LSU. I still think he was the most NFL ready QB OSU had 3 years ago, and they should have stuck with him. Our loss is LSU's gain.

Why didnt the LSU coach go for 2 after that last TD by them? Up 12 or 13, makes no difference, you lose if you give up 2 tds either way.

it was 2007, and that was a rebuilding year

4-6-1 that year but a huge, sweet win. What did Michigan have during its dark season? Nothing. LOL

The 1st of 4 consecutive wins over OSU, that’s what. That Cooper bum should have been fired after 1991. 2-10-1. Good God.

This was Ohio State's only win against an SEC team between 1935 and 2010.

John Campanelli up until 1975 OSU had a winning record against SEC teams , now it is 9-12-1, but 3-9 in bowl games.

Reason is Nick Saban has balls! Look at the SEC non conference games the last two years. Not to mention there havent really been any great teams besides Florida and Alabama the last few years. SEC is way over rated!
