Hello, MattBeRyanDay'sBFF. Here’s my hypothesis about why Jeremiah Smith is only 6th in Heisman odds despite being possibly the best player in the nation. It’s due to a combination of two factors: the importance of individual stats in Heisman voting, and the way the OSU offense distributes the ball to multiple elite playmakers. In the 2024-25 season, counting the CFP, OSU had four 1,000-yard producers on offense: Jeremiah Smith (1,315 rec), Emeka Egbuka (1,011 rec), Quinshon Judkins (1,060 rush), and TreVeyon Henderson (1,016 rush). This type of offense is great for winning games, but not so great for creating a Heisman trophy winner.

If Kyle McCord cant handle the fans critisim in college how will he handle that in the pros?
@8301TheJMan4 сағат бұрын
Well, he went on to literally lead the country in passing yards on effin Syracuse, on a team that wasn't loaded with talent or a super pass-heavy offense. So yeah, if he can do that there with what he had to work with - I'm confident he could do pretty well at the next level. As for OSU fans, historically both Michigan and OSU are ridiculously hard on players, beyond anything I've seen in the pros. Back during the dark years of Rich Rod and Hoke, the horrible treatment of QB Devin Gardner was beyond anything I've seen even though he played great for us at the time. He was getting harassed by people on and off campus, it was really gross Which is crazy, cuz it wasn't like they were expected to do great those years either, like if this had been Bama that'd make sense - but it was Brady Hoke's Michigan - we were god awful then?! And i have friends who went to school in Columbus and are huge OSU fans tell me that it's very similar. Of course he difference being that now OSU is and has been for years, a great program, where as Michigan at the time i was talking about - was far from one to say the least. My point is that both teams, regardless of expectations of the teams overall performance going into the year, have absurdly high standards - sometime unfairly high standards that lead to them being overly harsh on the talent that comes through. So much so that it rivals anything I've seen in pros. But, I guess we'll see

The OSU QB room was pretty much decided already, Brown is a good QB but he couldn’t beat out McCord, he definitely wasn’t beating out the new QB’s, Sayin has been getting more reps than Air Noland he would have been QB 3 going into next season, the real competition is between Sayin and St. Clair they were the only two who really had a chance going into this season even then it seems like Sayin is the guy, no reason for Air Noland (No clue why he went to SC) to sit around and watch

Well the room is still loaded. Nothing bad is going on with it.. Sayin is the guy next season and Tavien St Clair is the recruit coming in.. he is outstanding just like Sayin. I don't know who we want to pick up in the Portal that has experience but.. I am all in for Julian Sayin taking over. If he were not the guy Brown would had stayed. 'It's snowin in Georgia and Florida, Ohio State winning National Championships.. we gotta get back to normal' Yo Ohio State is in the convo every single year... So STOP AND what's up with the lack of Love in WR's getting the Heisman?? I don't understand when Jeremiah Smith is the best player in CFB and all these QB's that haven't proved themselves are ahead of him, Carson 'Timmy' Beck right behind him.. Altho yea he is going to THE U in the ACC.. Shouldn't have a struggle Back to the QB situation.. I agree there are going to be Growing pains and like you said very normal.. Also know we can be some of the pickiest and most needy 'Gotta be good right now' fans but to be fair.. We just won a Natty and had the same team of guys for the most part for 4 years.. As a fan of the Buckeyes I am so excited to see the next men up @ all the positions and see how the staff work with this young team coming up.. Kyle McCord came into a team that was developed and Stroud happened to leave loaded after almost getting to the Championship the year Prior. McCord sat behind stroud for years learning and expected him to be ready to go and take us to the playoff/Natty and didn't.. this season it was Championship or bust because it was the final year with these recruits.. Now it's the new Blood and super exciting

All very possible. If michigan taught me anything after they.won it all last year and losing 3/4 of there starters and even though they still had alot of great players returning most were chanting back to back and they were back on top of college fotball. I never believed they could replace the experience not the players like OSU we recruit great players but experience you can't replicate. With opening with Texas and Penn State later are the 2 best teams and michigan is there as well. Illinois at there place is gonna be a tough game as bert has them doing better. So what you say is very possible, hope not, will have to see how Sayin does at qb and how the D recoups from all the losses. Maybe we will hit the portal again and buy some more guys in key spots😂. Hate all you want about 20 mil, I'm not😂

I don't watch a lot of your content, it recently just starting popping up on my recommended feed, but the more I watch the more apparent it becomes, you have no clue what you're talking about most of the time. Yes Air Noland and Devin Brown have departed, because they were 3rd and 4th on depth chart after Sayin came in, so neither of them could beat him next year and we just picked up Tavien St. Clair a 5* QB from Bellefontaine, Oh who is ranked as one of the best in the nation, neither Brown nor Noland would be able to beat him out either next year so they still be at 3rd/4th on the depth chart, so instead they have decided to go to schools with lesser talented players where they will likely start. Yes our QB room shrunk but no as you stated it didn't "become worse". We are possibly looking for another transfer QB for next year also like we did with Howard so that Sayin could get one more year in the system and so we're not throwing him out to the wolves as a sophomore , or we might just roll with him if he is ready. Either way we will get a QB or 2 for depth and be fine even with Sayin starting. Their is also the possibility that St. Clair is just as crazy good as he is hyped and could start as a freshmen, not likely but definitely possible. I'm more worried about replacing the 7-10 starters were about to lose on defense then I am about QB.
