I live in Columbus and ride from Valley View to London 3 or 4 times a week. It's a beautiful section of the Ohio to Erie trail. Thank you much for your videos!!

Glad you made it through the Leonard Ave. Stretch! I have had a lot of flats through there from broken glass. So neat to see you riding my local trails!

This may be the most challenging segment of OTET as the route through downtown Columbus is confusing and choppy. I rode it Cedarville to Westerville in 2021 (staying at the same hotels) but on an overcast day without the heat, and found the challenge in the Alum Creek section is the constant twisting and turning while the section south of Columbus is so straight it's easy to make good time. But the heat wasn't bad that day. Note the Aloft also has a hose in the back on the patio for bike cleaning. Nice series of videos.

Thanks for sharing another great journey. It looks like you had it all on this one including a cold (that’s never fun). Can’t wait to see the rest of the journey. Be safe, have fun.

Thanks Roger. Yup it was a doozy but even with the obstacles I still had fun and love the OTET. Can’t control Mother Nature.

I am sorry you got sick on your ride. The heat can be a challenge for sure! You are a strong person and cyclist. Thanks for the videos.

Thanks man. Yeah that heat was a kicker. Going from heat to cold AC, I should have known I’d get sick.

I know your pain at the end of day last 10-15 miles are the hardest. I like your energy on a trail, reminds me so much my own solo bike touring. I just got back from my 4 day tour here in Florida Tampa to Jacksonville. Looking forward to your next day video. 👍

If I’m still singing on trail, we’re good. Lol That’s why I gravitate towards your videos. You bring the energy too! Can’t wait to see that trip.

Finished watching and thank you so much! I look forward to the next video. I wonder if there is a road section to ride instead of the prairie trail as I have heard from multiple riders it is there least favorite. I would love to do this ride but not sure I could handle the consecutive days of many miles. I am good for 30-40 daily, Thanks!

Thanks. I’m sure there is probably a good country road alternative to the trail for that section. I’d check Ride With GPS or Strava. You know the great thing about the OTET specifically is there are a lot of stopping points at 20 or 30 miles so if you want to do shorter days you can like I did through the north central section.

Shoemakers IGA in South Charleston Hearth Stone were life savers during the pandemic for refueling. Had they not allowed cyclist to get water and use their bathrooms there would’ve been no public bathrooms between London and Xenia during the pandemic. I continue to support those local spots when possible due to that. Actually stayed at Hearth Stone Inn on my OTET ride this past summer.

Wow that’s great to know the IGA was such a hero to cyclist during the pandemic. The Hearthstone was probable the most cyclist friendly hotel of my whole ride.

@@DeniseLookingOut ya, all the bathrooms were locked on the trail between Xenia and London and water fountains were shut off. Those spots were huge to let cyclists use their facilities.
