Ohio and California played in the opening round of the 2023 Little League World Series. The LLWS is double elimination.

One of my favorite accomplishments is revolutionizing the way sports channels create thumbnails. I've adopted two different styles, one with logos on the left and a game snapshot on the right, and the other with the logos in the middle and game snapshots representing both teams on either side.
I have a combined 4 years of experience as a Baseball & Basketball Play by Play announcer, which is where I learned my skills for commentary/breakdowns.

There is absolutely no way this game shouldn't have been played to completion, there are only two games on each field per day, plenty of time to play it out. It's also unfair for their next opponents having to face a team that only had to use up 4 innings worth of pitching instead of 6 or more

@@kevinstogner9477every year I tune in hoping for the best possible outcome and hoping Little League will get it together. I’m always disappointed. There were some good moments for individual players. Resume plat the next day. It’s called a suspended game if you do it right.

@@sergio9489 Little League has a lucrative contract with E.S.P.N. The network makes a big deal out of the tournament and it would be wonderful if the tournament was run correctly. The concept is fantastic. The actual execution of the concept is a miserable failure. Every year I tune in and hope for an improvement, and every year I’m disappointed. I’ll try again next year. There are hundreds of tournaments across America this week with better directors, umpires, coaches, and players. I do hope the players have a good experience despite the shortcomings.

I live in Manhattan Beach, CA and am rooting for the El Segundo kids. That said, I think it's terrible that they don't resume and play out the rest of the game. All the kids have worked hard to get here. No reason the game can't be resumed and played all the way through 6 innings. My hat's off to the Ohio boys. They were playing great.

At every level of baseball once a certain inning is reached and there’s a delay the game is done. Especially at little league level because it messes with pitch counts and scheduling

because the rule in little league and pretty much every baseball organization is that if 4 innings are completed the game can be called(if 7 innings than 5, and if 9 innings than 7)

As where california has kalish who didn’t even play today & lappe who was going to come in. Keep in mind He shutdown Northern California probably a team who would be best or 2nd best in the entire LLWS. Ohio was not scoring from hits they got free runs entire game. I just don’t think the better team got cheated. So it’s not that big of a deal

The refs strike zone for the Ohio pitcher and Cali pitcher were completely different. Ohio pitcher got jobbed on numerous balls that should've been strikes. Usually LL strike zones are generous but he wasnt cutting that kid any slack.

In the first inning was the other way around which actually lead to runs. Those calls didn’t really hurt Ohio pitcher so why are we talking about this? Ohio scored all their runs from walks California scored their runs from 2R HR & a solo HR & a Double. Totally different if anything Ollie Parks was getting screwed

Pitcher was throwing 74mph. One of the better pitchers in llws. Of course they are gonna have trouble scoring but ended up having 2 home runs. And thats without their best hitter Jaxon Kalish. This game was ending with a el segundo W regardless of 4 innings or 6 innings. Louis Lappe was coming in to close the door.

A strike is a pitch in the strike zone not swung at, or a swing at a pitch. The batter was not attempting to swing at the pitch, or in this case bunt the ball. A batter can be in a obvious bunt stance without attempting to bunt. He was not attempting to bunt the pitch. It was the correct call.
