This is one of my very favorite KZbin channels. You are providing a wonderful service to both the big fish owners and to the fish. I'm 77 years old and no longer able to care for an aquarium, but many years ago when I lived out in Virginia I was a big fish owner. I had one 700 gallon, four 300 gallon, and two 260 gallon tanks made in Wisconsin by the All Glass company, they were great to work with. I'm pretty sure they are out of business now, it's a shame. For a while I was getting 1000 feeder goldfish shipped to Dulles Airport every couple of months to keep the big fish fed and happy. (Kept them in a couple of my 130's) You guys keep up the great work!!!

Rich the fact that you have devoted you're life to giving fish a fighting chance at a better life is one of the most noble things a human being can do. People that criticize you are sorry to say low caliber human beings. Even if at times when we see mistakes being made which happens for ALL OF US people don't have to be jerks about it. When deciding to give fish Its you're right to decide who gets fish. Period end stop! You don't need me to tell you we appreciate you're devotion and hard work. God bless all of you at OFR this planet needs more people like you! P.S. here's to extra prayers for Tracy may god watch over her in her time of need! Take care big rich.

Hey Big Rich. I love the trips down memory lane. And getting to see the pictures of Tracy. I remember all the videos with her in them, well, when you could get her to be in them. She was always a little shy. I remember your trip to get the Bellagio tanks. I think 🤔 that's the most I ever seen her in a video. I've been following you ever since the KZbinr did a tour through the rescue. I can't remember who it was. I'm ashamed. It's been awhile. Oops. But anyway, please keep the memory lane videos coming. They're really cool 😎. Thanks for sharing.

Yeah I completely agree, He's a really good guy and only cares about what's best for the fish and wants them all to have the best possible home. I expect some people would probably try to make money from what these guys do cos I reckon some of these huge fish are probably worth a bit of money and there's probably some people who would be prepared to pay some good money for some of them but Rich has absolutely no interest in making any money from doing this. If he was able to make something to cover his costs and expenses I would definitely think good luck to him cos it must cost him a lot of money for his water, electricity and feeding bills each month but it isn't his main priority he's just a good guy that loves keeping fish and this hobby, same goes for Josh, they definitely aren't getting rich from keeping fish. They're just a really decent family who deserve all the good fortune that ever comes their way.

Sir, that tank is incredible diy structural engineering at its best. Wow. You should be designing bridges over faults. Maybe that pickles & ice cream thing is just an old TV sitcom trope that was never real. Cravings for meat (protein for obvious reasons) and vitamins and specific mineral sources are the ones I've heard of in real life. Almonds and nuts for magnesium; sometimes they'll eat chalk or suck on stones for calcium minerals; bananas the odd time or other new fruits that were not in the normal diet. Baby wants what it wants! 👶

Can't. This is what I'm talking about . The general public does not have the parameters that I have to work with. I can't move the bass to any other tank except the 4400. The pool is a no go as he will decimate the city hlids in there

Could the tail nibbling culprit have been the turtle in the pool? I don't recall its species but some turtles will nip at anything that looks like a worm or just anything sitting still. I agreed with your reflections on wishing you'd made the 3000g tank longer in general. Even if the viewing panel is limited, more water volume on a custom build is always better if you physically have the space. Fish keepers rarely wish they had a *smaller* tank - unless it's moving day. SFMF

So does the tank that you built only have one glass panel at the front?? Or have I misunderstood? Is it possible to build a tank with the sides made from wooden boards and coated and sealed with waterproof paint? That's how it looked like you built the tank to me but I would have thought it would end up not holding all the water in and it would end up leaking eventually. However it was built regardless its a beautiful tank anyway and a perfect home for all those huge monster fish.

Once the metallic dog-bone tank gets "Tetris-ed" into the shallow end of the pool mega-pond that footprint in the main fish room would be great for such a special themed mega tank.
@patrickmurray37242 жыл бұрын
Also, you have some balls putting that tank on top! How much for the metal beams?
@jimzielinski9462 жыл бұрын
I understand why you want to replace the wood supports on top of the tank with metal. I see a problem though with the strength of the long wood beam above the front window. I'm wondering if it might be necessary to add support beams to the front of the tank. I don't think a few black painted support posts would look bad.
@puirYorick2 жыл бұрын
Josh is a professional engineer so I was thinking he could spec out a suitable steel lintel beam to carry the load of ALL that extra tank on top and new cross braces etc over to the ends of the front panel.
@tommybunk22922 жыл бұрын
Very impressive build, I'm new to the channel and been checking out OFR's other video's. Everything I've seen is impressive at your Rescue. I'm upgrading from a 150gal to a 225gal which I "thought" was pretty big, now I'm having small penis syndrome😢. Anybody that would put a three foot plus Pacu in a 150gal tank is an idiot, or just don't know how to care for fish, or both. My vote is on both😉👌
