Ohm's law states that the current through a conductor between two points is directly proportional to the voltage across the two points.

I got my Novice Class ham radio license in 1960. I went to school to learn how to repair TV's in 1965. The Army sent me to a 32-week school to learn how to repair air defense radar systems in 1967. In all three, I learned about Ohm's Law, only voltage was represented as 'E' because 'E' stood for 'Electromotive Force', the formal name for Voltage. I've never seen the Ohm's Law diagram, always drawn inside a circle and not a triangle, using 'V' for voltage. Maybe things have changed since then.
