i think what makes it so good as well is the fact that merchant has donate bp so you can give literally any party member max bp in the first round

@@CryonicCy in Octopath 1 yeah. There was donate BP, always useful. Hired help did fixed damage once you had enough money, easily got with the make more money passive. Hang tough passive was survive any deadly attack as long as you weren't In low health, and it had SP saver too. If you combined it with thief you could share SP with a party member and rest next turn to restore that sp or use SP thief. Combine it with rune lord allowed to transfer rune sidestep to 100% dodge physical attacks for the entire party and transfer rune rest allowed party SP healing. It took a while to get going but once you did Merchant was probably the best job in Octopath 1

@@wjamesmci I never used Hired help too brokie, Hang Tough yeah it's good passive too bad 4 slots sucks, SP Saver eh it's cool especially for Sorcerer but again 4 slots of support skills. Never used Merchant/Theif combo. Runelord side step strat never used Rest on it though

I saw his kit in the demo and it was the easiest decision to make him my starting character. The game has been an absolute breeze with him. He can literally be whatever you want him to be. Later on he just gets more and more broken. He can even become an extremely proficient and self sufficient damage dealer.

(ENDGAME SECRET CLASS SPOILER) Just like the first Octopath traveler with Tressa on Runelord, we have Partitio on Arcanist- Arcanist of course being the new and improved variation of Runelord. Being able to apply self targeting buffs to the entire party, such as Sidestep- granting 100% immunity to physical damage, and Rest- healing HP, SP, and curing status ailments. Not only that but it comes with reflective barrier as well, which in unison with hi sidestep literally gives your party 100% immunity to Physical damage, and 100% immunity to Magic damage WITH a reflect that sends it back to it's attacker. I've completed 4 of the 8 stories so far, and on all 4 final chapter bosses- (Agnea, Hikari, Partitio, Ochette) I've never taken a hit. I'm so glad to see Runelord make a new and improved return, and even happier to see this new installments Merchant be just as broken of a support, if not more so. And that's all without bringing up the fact that the new and improved Runelord rendition is now able to not only deal immense magical damage, but solves the "Price of Power" SP management problem by recovering MASSIVE amounts of HP and SP based on damage dealt. Altogether a MASSIVE quality of life improvement. I no longer run a healer, I just run Partitio on Arcanist. One fully charged spell from him deals a good 100K-150K (I'm level 90 with 999 Magic) and recovers a good 100-250SP to the whole party, or 2-5k HP based on the enemy level. Also Partitio is best boi

Also the BEST equipment in the Demo costs 10,000+ so his STEAL gold skill IS useful sure he can steal like 300+ for that for the normal encounters but for BOSSES he may practically steal over 1000 but it may only work ONCE per battle so don't spam that EVERY turn during a boss fight.

I haven't seen a gear piece that costs over 9k actually. Only in paritios starting town while in his prologue some weapons costed 15k, but as soon you leave the prologue they aren't available anymore.

You are mentioning that you will run "Boost Start" on several different characters, but it's a personal support skill of Partitio, how to equip them on other characters tho?

Maybe I'm wrong because I didn't look closely at it but isn't Boost Start tied to the "Merchant" class and not Partitio himself? At least in Octopath 1 you could give other party members merchant and other classes the base characters held

Get the Merchant license... Equip it use JP learn the skills and equip boost start. Rinse and Repeat.

I feel this version of the game is easier than the Octopath 1. And the chraracters are more broken, specially the warrior with the vengeaful sword

In this game eventually all characters can learn the same job, Only need multiple permits. So they will be very powerful later in game. I think the latent will be main class though.

I think i just discover a time cheat to change the play time to 0 still hasn't tested wether it work or not tho, also it only work on pc version Edit : it actually worked! I will make tutorial video later

Partitio can learn sidestep as a skill right away when you have enough jp. Its under skills in menu

There's no Runelord, but there is a secret class that will let Partitio apply his self-only buffs to everyone, thus enabling him to quad-Sidestep everyone Turn 2.
