Once again you have inspired me! I have always wanted holdfasts for my workbench but they don't make them for my bench. And it only has two "bench dogs". I have my great grandfather's small workbench and I won't get rid of it because of that provenance. The holes are actually rectangular in shape. But seeing you make these I don't see why I can't make them with a rectangle bottom and shape them from a single piece of wood. I like the trick with raising one end when drilling the hole. Clever. Thanks!!

Dear my friend Thanks for supporting my video as usual And thanks for the wonderful comments. You've taken over a workbench full of history. That's great. A square hole has a stronger fixing force than a round hole, maybe! I wish you good luck Thank you See you

FWIW, in English we'd call these "holdfasts." Though both go into the dog holes, a holdfast clamps with downward force whereas a bench dog resists lateral force, usually applied by a matching dog in a vise.

Hi from Greece. Can you please tell me what kind of wood you are using? Thank you

Hello,Giorgio Thanks for visiting my video And thank you for your nice comment This tree is waste wood that should have been burned on a bonfire, given this by a neighbor, but I'm an amateur and I'm not familiar with trees! I asked my neighbor, he answered 'Apiton', but it seems that other seed trees are also intermingled. There is no connection to being a hard tree! I'm sorry I couldn't answer my conviction I look forward to working with you Thank you

I asked my neighbor, he answered 'Apiton', but it seems that other seed trees are also intermingled. There is no connection to being a hard tree! Finished with a little mix of edible oil, lemon oil, sesame oil, olive oil and kerosene, applied, dried and wiped with a cloth and finished with lacquer spray. I don't know if this is the right job. I look forward to working with you Thank you

Thanks. What did you use for oiling them?
@TachiOhyo564 жыл бұрын
Hello, My homemade mixed oil is very economical It is a mixture of edible waste oil and olive oil, sesame oil, lemon oil and a little kerosene. But I doubt this is right! Thank you See you

Excelentes prensas perros amigo!

Gracias
