Oil pressure warning? Replacing the oil pick up pipe. Wrecked Audi TT project. Pt 5.

So we had an oil pressure warning on our project TT. We decided to drop the sump and inspect the sump and oil pick up pipe/strainer.
Here is what we found.

little tip for you Larcs... rub a magnet around in the oil and see if the magnet picks any shards up...

I have the same model and colour 2002 TT. And it has the same oil pressure light on! I will try this as well.

Oil pump. Just replaced mine and sorted the problem.

I've replaced my oil pump and the oil sensor but the warning light still flashes. Don't know what to do again....I'm fed up

@@richieosei7605 I found a wiring plug. It's on right side nr head light. It was full of oil. Cleaned it with spray and it's been ok. Mine did same as you it kept coming on after I replaced the oil pump and sensor.

@@LarcsWorkshop Hi I waited for my T bar socket to get two bolts out that you used yours that you bent, anyway I still could not do it so i had a flexi thing that came with a drill I cut all the plastic off ,any way cutting long story short found my missing socket but also found some plastic bits in my sump pan they look cream /brown in colour any Idea what it is should I be worried

@@andrewhunt3800 Well done for getting it off👌. Things that pop into my head for plastic parts are the dipstick tube (which often breaks on these) or chain tensioner bits, maybe left over from a previous replacement 🤞, or current damage (not good). I think I would be inspecting them for piece of mind. I've never dug into chain work on one of these engines myself. Good luck finding the source 🤞. Cheers Larcs 👍

@@LarcsWorkshop Thank you ,that is what I thought but had my fingers crossed you would say dip stick and leave it there as I don't want to go playing around the chain as I don't know what I am doing or where to start It wasn;t a lot to be fair and it was light brown sort of colour so don;t think it is to bad , it is the bit where you put in brackets not good that I don;t like , anyway thank you for you input much appreiated

Probably best to check the true oil pressure using an external gauge before you go any further. Cheers Larcs 👍

I have 2012 VW Sharan. oil pressure warning light comes on straight after moving. change oil pressure switch, oil ,Oli filter, oil pick up pipe. still not solved. anyone have any idea.

Might be an oil pump failure? I wouldn't run it until you can get the actual oil pressure tested. Good luck sorting it out 🤞.

I’ve a 2005 A3. Oil pressure light comes on only when engine is cold (it disappears after 5 mins max). Please could you guys advise how to sort it? Oil level is good. 93k miles 🙌🙏🏼
