I found more real support from the comment section than I did in the video. Thank you to all who have shared their stories and experience. Oil pulling hasn’t been around for as long as it has if it didn’t work. Plus, no one talked about what this guy was eating* to create more bacteria, or how healthy his organs are in general. No one’s routine is perfect but the teeth is part of the larger system, “just doing what all the other patients do” doesn’t work for the common folk who can’t afford the services. So we must revert back to the old school methods if we want to see any results this lifetime. Good luck y’all.

I don't know if Dr Nemeth would be interested to hear this or not but here goes. .... About five years ago I had significant bone loss in the bone holding my front lower teeth along with (and largely of course because of significant gum recession there), with pockets. I also had a small area of mild gum infection on one side of my jaw. The dentist was recommending expensive deep cleaning type of procedure to address the bacteria that was of course causing the bone loss etc. Nothing else was advised or recommended to me by the dentist. ........... Instead, what I did was to do my own research and use some basic common sense. As a result I adopted a whole regimen to address the problem. .... I had all my life brushed twice a day and flossed. At this point however I switched to an ultra soft tooth brush and began utilizing the "Modified Bass" technique for brushing (which I had never even heard of before and no dentist over the years had ever told me about). .... I dipped the brush in food grade Peroxide and massaged the bristles down into the affected areas in the gums. I also would hold a small puddle of the Peroxide in my mouth for a few minutes right on the affected front lower area to allow the Peroxide to bubble and kill any bacteria that was there. I was careful as best I could to keep the Peroxide away from any fillings in my mouth. I had heard that it might have a corrosive effect on amalgam. I do not know if that is true or not. I used the Peroxide in this way once a day for about one week. I also began trying different natural recipes for tooth paste which were recommended by different sources. One recipe I tried for a while was a mixture of baking soda, virgin coconut oil, food grade peppermint oil and Himalayan salt. Neem oil was another oil I used and applied it directly by massaging it into my gums with my finger. There are other oils such as these which can be used to kill bacteria and thus strengthen the gums. Just from doing these things alone, my gums began looking much better color wise and it appeared that I was taking the right approach. .... Over the months that followed I began trying a few natural tooth pastes which I found on Amazon. One was composed of a recipe from Ayurvedic medicine. A couple of others I used for a while were composed of different recipes featuring either "Bentonite clay" or another type of clay. All of these different tooth pastes have served me and the health of my mouth extremely well over the years. I like to try different recipes or products to explore how well or not something works for me. In my opinion the majority of main stream commercial tooth pastes are garbage and should not be used by anyone. The other very important element in all of this of course is dietary changes, but I have already spent more time here than I can afford right now so I will leave it there and hope this info may be of some help to someone else who may need it. - EDIT: Yikes!. after all that I completely forgot to add one of the most important pieces of my report here. I had full xrays one year ago (about 4 years after making the changes I shared above), and the results showed that the bone in the front lower area of my jaw has fully recovered and grown back. Also, my gums look really great. When I have gone to the dentist for a check up and cleaning, they find no problems and there is no cleaning for them to do because I never have any plaque. They also diagnose my gums as looking great. My teeth in general also feel stronger than they ever have. ---------- EDIT: - The following is some of my diet changes information for anyone who may be interested; .... I want to share here that the right dietary changes are and were also very important for my success as they are for anyone. I eliminated grain foods from my diet. This includes such foods as breads or any baked foods made with wheat, corn or rice etc. I avoid grain based breads, cereals, cookies, pasta etc. Breads made from sprouted grains are better for you but I chose to eliminate grains period. Note, this would include avoiding such products as rice milk or oat milk.This also includes eliminating any raw nuts or seeds that have not been sprouted. Sprouting helps to eliminate much of the phytic acid in these foods and phytic acid draws minerals out of the body which in turn of course weakens teeth and bones. I do not consume any sugar except for what is found naturally in the small amount of different types of berries which I try to consume fairly regularly. I do not consume much fruit in order to avoid the significant amounts of sugar therein. I do use small amounts of organic Stevia which is a natural plant sourced sweetener. Monk fruit extract is another option but I have not tried it. I increased my consumption of quality fats from foods such as canned wild caught sardines, wild caught salmon, 100 percent grass fed meat or wild game.Grass fed organ meats are ideal such as liver, bone marrow etc. Vitamin A&D from high quality cod liver oil. Grass fed dairy products such as butter and raw dairy is the best. ... Avacados are another staple of mine which are a good source of healthy fats as well as fiber. Also, quality pure olive oil as well as avacado oil are two that I use regularly. Make sure the olive oil is truly pure & extra virgin and not diluted with other cheap oils as most of the olive oils on the market are. Hemp seed oil is another very good option to consider if you like the taste. Of course olives and anchovies are two other foods that I consume as well. Raw fermented vegetables are invaluable for oral health and overall health in general. The optimal health of the gut is known to be crucial to the optimal health of the mouth, teeth and gums. You want to strengthen and build up the healthy bacteria in the gut by regularly consuming foods like raw sauerkraut or raw pickles etc which you can make at home yourself or you can buy in certain stores such as Whole Foods. ..... Just to add one very invaluable additional fermented food suggestion here; If you can find a source of raw, grass fed milk, ... in my opinion raw milk Kefir is the most outstanding source of health promoting gut bacteria that you will ever find. Far superior to even raw milk yogurt. I cannot recommend it enough. Some sources that do sell raw milk, also sell raw milk Kefir, but if all you can get is the milk, you may be able to find a source that sells the Kefir grains which you can use to convert your milk into Kefir. There are sources on line that will instruct you in how to do this. .... NOTE: Store bought, 'dead milk' (pasteurized), Kefir is essentially worthless. Don't waste your money on it. I also consume plenty of organic extra virgin coconut oil and or MCT oil for the health promoting, slow burning saturated fat. I also consume free range eggs and raw grass fed cheese. Organic dark leafy greens, cruciferous veggies such as broccoli. brussle sprouts, cauliflower etc are excellent of course among others as well as sea weeds like Wakame, Nori, Dulse etc which provide plenty of minerals. I also grow my own sprouts (very easy to do), including broccoli, radish, pea, mung bean etc, etc. One serving of sprouts provide approx. five times the nutrients found for example in one whole head of that vegetable such as broccoli. You can buy sprouting seeds on amazon or elsewhere on line and you can find 'How to' videos on youtube. ............... There is more to share along these lines but this is a good foundation of info to work with. I hope it is of some help to you. I wish you well in your efforts to strengthen your oral health.

My background is not of Ayurvedic practice but oil pulling is an ancient ayurvedic tried and tested practice for millenniums. The best method I found is below (please correct me if i am wrong anywhere): Try Oil pulling Once a day every day for 10-20mins and thereafter once or twice every week. Best at morning, empty stomach In coconut oil, add the following (coconut is by far the best choice for oil pulling) Turmeric power( just a pinch) Fennel and clove powder or you can grind them at home into fine powders. Let the above mixture sit for 2 days and sieve the powders out from the coconut oil Then it is it time to rinse mouth. First add same quantity of water and the mixture in a separate container Then try swishing, gargling at cheeks and upper and lower mouth (especially lower) and spit it out in the bin or tissue (not the sink) Make sure you use a small amount of mixture and rub it on the gums at the end. It is best to swish until it gets hot (should also turn milky at the end) but stop if jaw hurts. Increase time in increments. Remember volume will increase double when swishing in mouth so use appropriate quantity beforehand. Try rinsing mouth with salt water after oil pulling. Must make sure to brush afterwards. You can do swishing first thing in the morning with your bath to save time? Store the mixture in a cool, away from sunlight place. Best to use Amber glass bottles as container. Best of Luck!

Oil pulling DEFINITELY worked for me. Prior to oil pulling my X-rays showed plaque under the gum and my gum around one tooth had receded. My dentist prescribed regular deep root cleanings to remove the plaque/treat my gums (hated the painful procedure)-I did that for about 2 years. I started oil pulling every other day and within 6 months my teeth were cleaner, whiter AND MY GUM GREW BACK around my tooth. I was amazed! At the next dental visit the x-rays were clear-there was NO TRACE of plaque under the gum. My dentist agreed that there was a dramatic improvement, but he still wanted to continue with the deep root cleaning🤨 That was my last visit to his office.

Another reason I need to try this route is although my husband is in the union, our insurance stinks! A friend needed a root canal whose husband works at the same company and the insurance wouldn't even cover half. I know I've got cavities and potentially something gun related but given today's times can't afford forking out a bunch of money right now. Prior to the economic mess we could. The second slide has 2 visible ones. There might be some more but I couldn't really point them out. So, Joseph R Nemeth DDS, what is it supposed to mean? You say it's the same but you show the slides with an obvious reduction in spirochetes. Even blurring out the first one can't cover up the difference. Are the viewers so dumb in your opinion? You do have 4.4 likes - those are people who trusted you, and 1.7 dislikes - those are people who actually checked the slides. I doubt you have a reasonable explanation for this deception.

In 2009, an oral surgeon told me that I needed gum surgery due to the number of deep pockets and gum recession. I said to myself, "Aw hell no," and started researching. The first thing I tried was an antimicrobial product, but it killed the good bacteria, too. Then I found out about oil pulling and I've been doing it faithfully ever since. My pockets eventually reduced over time, and now I get mostly measurements of 1 and 2, some 3, and one 4 on a very problematic tooth. I alternate coconut oil one day, olive oil the next, 20-minute sessions. Brush my teeth before and after, and oil pull on an empty stomach, so first thing in the morning, but I do have a cup of coffee first because, hey, gotta have that coffee to get going. Long story short, I get compliments from the dentist on how healthy my gums are.

Do you think mine can possibly improve? My recession is due to brushing too hard for years (I’m 22) what was yours caused by?

I oil pulled for 20 minutes, for just over a month before seeing the dentist. They did a microscope analysis, and it was so funny to see, they kept coming back for more scrapes in different places and they couldn't believe how little the bad bacteria count was. They kept asking me about my teeth regimen & my diet. I was really proud & satisfied. My husband who was not oil pulling, and brushes daily, had a much higher count. Also, it helped with tooth sensitivity, and my gums got a healthy pretty pink. I also think my teeth got whiter. I was going in for a cracked amalgam, that had an edge up for like 3 years before that, and it finally cracked. I was so scared they were going to try and crown it. I begged them to just remove it, and fill it with composite. They couldn't assure me completely, but said they would try their best. After he removed the amalgam, he was like, "Oh! This is good! I can totally fill this!" I had my husband with me to back me up, and the dentist showed him, and was like, "Look, barely any decay, I can fill it." Make sure you are in charge at the dentist. They were going to crown it, and I was adamant that it should be filled. Please do your homework, it's your mouth for life. Look up anything from Dr. Weston A. Price (ex: Nutrition and Physical Degeneration). You'll be amazed at what you find! I learned about him in 2009, and I could not be more THANKFUL! 🙏 It changed mine & my family's diet and teeth regimen. Also, Ramiel Nagel, Cure Tooth Decay. Dr. Robert O. Nara, How to Become Dentally Self Sufficient, and Money by the Mouthful. Nourishing Traditions by Sally Fallon. Also, a water irrigatior/ water flosser is a game changer! I oil pull every year or so. Like 4-6 weeks of oil pulling, every 6-12 months. Especially if I ever have any issues: sensitivity, pain, injury, bleeding, etc. Good Luck to anyone who reads this! 🙏

I have only had 1 abcess in my life. I couldn't get in to see the dentist for 3 weeks! I couldn't wait, I started oil pulling again, been doing since my early 20s, but hadn't done it in a few years & went back to it. Was out of my Organic Sesame, so I grabbed my Organic Raw Coconut Oil. The abscess started pulsing! I grabbed my camera & videoed my gum to see what my eyes may not have been picking up, but I could see directly, blood literally concentrated in that area moving through my gum line. The pain subsided almost immediately (less & less pain as an hr or 2 had passed). I pulled again a few hours later (I had also gone to pick up some Sesame). I tried the Seasame first & felt nothing but still recorded, no visible activity, so I went back to the coconut & same thing, pulsing, except now pus is breaking through the gumline @ about 17 minute marke and zero pain. Next day no abscess, gum is completely normal bar some redness. Pulled again next morning & a few hours later, no redness, normal healthy pink gums. Perhaps the Sesame is doing something different, targeting different strains, and it's action is less visible? I don't know, but as for the abscess there was a noticeable physical & visible sensation, that produced immediate results with the CO. I wish the dentist would have done both (Sesame & Coconut Oil Experiment). It would have been nice to see & compare @ spirochetes, perhaps using two different patients? 2nd Scenario: My visit to Dentist, said I need deep scaling and warned based on xrays and touch testing it would take a minimum of 2 hours. I went home & oil pulled and after that, 5 minutes of baking soda swish (1 Tsp), this time I was spitting what felt like small rocks🤔 & I pulled again before my appointment. I spent a total of 30 minutes in that chair! I asked what happened to the 2 hrs minimum? She said she couldn't explain it, it just wasn't there. I know oil pulling works because I have measurable proof (with coconut oil), not just a feeling. I don't have any measurable proof with Sesame, but I pulled with Sesame for over 15 years & had absolutely no gum issues (this is anecdotal to credit Sesame in this case I know), well I didn't have any that were noticeable.

I noticed Skylar mentioned he continued the more routine parts of his dental hygiene regime; particularly brushing twice daily. Skylar doesn't identify the brand of toothpaste he used during his 30+ day experiment (?) with oil pulling so I presume he used a ADA approved toothpaste with either stannous fluoride (0.454% 0.15% w/v fluoride ion) or sodium fluoride ion (0.24%). If this assumption is correct the the ADA approved toothpaste and recommended regime of brushing twice daily also failed to reduce levels of harmful bacteria in his gums.

Skyler I want to educate you or help you learn the “how to oil pull” part of your 35 day experiment. You wasted 11 hours trying to prove something rather than understanding that the process is done for prevention and not for immediate cure. A dentist is well learned in traditional dentistry and with all good intentions towards his patients, he is limited to his knowledge, to his practice of dentistry in his state licensing, his liability, research, medical/dental equipment from the manufacturer, skill acquired on using such equipment, payor insurance, staffing, his morale, ethics and so on.....so all the other commentators please try not to judge. So Skyler the question you should ask yourself is.......”if I did not have a tooth paste, brush and a floss what would I do?” If your answer is “I am curious-what would I do and how would I prevent dental disease?” Here is your answer 😉 History: Oil Pulling origins - Initially Indus Valley Civilisation - later migration into South Indian peninsula they are known as Dravidians - Ayurveda (traditional Indian Medicine focuses on prevention) Available resources for dental Hygiene - water, Himalayan pink crystal salt (no ocean), Neem tree branches, sesame oil (no ocean), cloves, turmeric root. Later migration from Indus Vally to Deccan Plateau- Dravidians - coconut oil instead of sesame oil and crystalized raw sea salt due to the ocean. This is what is still used in majority of South Indian population where modern dentistry is not feasible. Procedure: Step 1: Flush your mouth 1 min with a few tbsps of water and 1 tsp of raw crystalized salt. This creates a neutral environment for the next step. ( We can use filtered water now but 3000 years go they used water that was stored in clay pot over night so any impurities settle to the bottom of the pot and they only used the top layer with out disturbing the entire pot). Step 2: crush 1 tsp of cloves and mix it in 1 tsp of sesame oil, strain the oil. Add 1 tbsp of water to this (notice oil & water do not mix-clove bits will settle to the bottom). Flush your mouth or oil pull as we call it in west with this liquid for 2-3 mins. Your saliva (post the first step in neutral form acts as an emulsifier agent). At the end of 2 mins spit and you will notice that the sputum is watery, not thick...., the oil essentially sticks to your gums and upper pallet. Do not rinse. Step 3: 1 tsp of turmeric power, add a few drops of water to make a very tick paste. Use your index finger and apply this paste to your teeth and let stand for 1 min. Do not swallow or rinse your mouth at this time and follow step 4... Step 4: chew a Neem tree twig for 5 mins. Do not brush your teeth with the twig rather chew using all your teeth. What ever saliva is produced spit it away along with the turmeric. The whole process takes about

Have you ever had a deep cleaning? Also what is your age range? I find people who do not do deep cleaning but oil pull consistently claim they don't typically require flossing. I still floss though as a part of my oral maintenance routine.

@@Nabiyah1 If I oil pull religiously, do I need dental cleaning? My oral health rn is moderate to good. I'm in my 30's, never got dental cleaning done and terrified. Thanks!
@Nabiyah1 Жыл бұрын
@@SG-xb7de I honestly cannot say. Everyone is different (too many variables to consider). Is your dentist saying you need a "deep" cleaning? A _general_ dental cleaning is always a good thing when you have a proficient dentist/hygienist. Deep is questionable, and would need to be evaluated on a case by case basis. However, brushing properly (not brushing hard or rough, but proper & cleaning tongue thoroughly back to front only (no back & forth motion), also cleaning sides of tongue)), oil pulling and proper flossing (gentle but thorough) goes a long way in a short period of time. Brushing the tongue at least 2 minutes (very gently) goes a long way too (IMHO). The tongue is how toxins are released through oil pulling & therefore tongue cleaning is essential. I would say try these suggestions & stick with it & you will see improvement.
@Nabiyah1 Жыл бұрын

Im sorry that this is a sad video and that it didnt work out. For me, Oil pulling and brushing my gums healed my pregnancy postpartum gingivitis. Pregnancy brought my immune system down so much and my gums bled everytime I brushed my teeth during my entire pregnancy and continued in postpartum. I didnt know what the heck was going on. Dentist didnt really help as far as advice I was told it was normal and it should return to normal in postpartum. Oil pulling and brushing my gums was the best decision I made for myself. It reversed pain and significantly reduced bleeding. I was taught that gently brushing your gums along with teeth heals and significantly strengthens the root of your teeth and is incredibly beneficial to overall dental health. May not be for everyone but it worked for me.

It's widely accepted as - at the very least - harmless (if not downright beneficial!), so, if in doubt, why not just try it for yourself? My personal experience of it has been definitely positive, especially in regards to gum health. Other than my own experience, once, over a long extended weekend in rural Ireland, a friend of mine develop a nasty abscess with pus in between her gum and one of her front teeth and we had no means of doing anything until Monday, so she took to coconut oil pulling and the result was evident and amazing. Come Monday, there was hardly any reason for her to go to the dentist (she did, anyway). So, just try it. This video does not strike me as representative of oil pulling; I don't know what the guy's expectation was and the old school dentist guy (the kind that would readily advice you to use the awful chemical cocktail that mouthwashes are) seemed to be slanted against it from the start.
