was great i used it for work as well but definetly not to the point. didnt to hear about the brake light and stuff couldve just said to press and hold for the oil light without the extra commentary thats the only thing thats annoying lol

It's easy to do. Just make sure the doors and hood are closed and the car is turned on and engine off

Great video!! I have a 2019 X3 with 36,000 miles. I took it to the dealer for oil change on 8/22 and today out of no where the engine light came on. In your expert opinion, should I try resetting as reflected in your video? Thank you!

Check engine light is not reset with this procedure. Most likely nothing the dealer did. It's most likely the active grill or the fuel tank emissions pressure sensor

Anybody in the UK tried this? My oil light is on. But when I measure it its showing green and maximum. Also car has done less than 2k miles. And another message is telling me oil change is not due for another 16,000 miles. 🤷🏻‍♂️🤔 Just another quirk of a BMW. But its really annoying!

I have a 2020 X3 M40i G01 and it doesn't have the button on left on your cluster.

yes, if your foot is on the brake pedal, then you will not enter the desired mode for selecting and reseting the notification! Simple issue, but drivers are conditioned to step on the brake pedal by default.

Go into vehicle status, vehicle service and it should show you all the services and their status. Brake fluid, oil service and vehicle check

Because the engine is off. When you only have it in accessory power, the engine light illuminates. This procedure resets the service lights, not the check engine light

All the X3s built after 9/2019 use idrive7 so this info pretty much only applies to before that time. However the procedure is similar you just hold down the BC button

Then you did something wrong, make sure the doors are closed, hood is closed. Power accessory mode, trip Meter correctly selected etc

Cycle the key off and back on, and try again. If it says impossible more than 4 times in a row or so, you might have a bad oil condition sensor or a rodent has chewed through one of the wires that lead to the sensor

I've seen this a number of times, 9 times out of 10 you just try it again and it will work. If it doesn't, then you've got rodent damage unfortunately

Doesn't work for a 21 X3 because there is no button on the IC to press so change the title
