Does the Oil reset be accurate miles til next oil change or is it just resetting back to the miles of a new oil change? Because mine went from 1900 to 8000 after i did the oil reset

You can change it with bmw ISTA software I think.

Some of the service options say rest not possible and I have reset the ones that were possible, but the warning triangle light is still on

Try reseting the vehicle check service light first, then reset the oil life. As far as a brake service reset, if the brake wear sensor is tripped, then it will not allow you to reset it

Try redoing it a couple times. If it still does it, reset the vehicle check and then try again using the same procedure. If it still doesn't work, you maybe need a software up date or your clock/date needs to be set

Hell yea, that's one of the reason why I started doing these. I remember working at a jiffy lube once upon a time and using youtube to reset lights all the time. That's flat out laziness on their part!

Yup. So we bought our 2018 320i pre owned from a GM dealer and had like two years of free oil changes included with the deal. The oil light was always reset for the first several oil changes with them but the last time my wife brought it in and had it changed, they didn't reset the light. I called them and they said they didn't have the equipment to do it and I'd have to take it into BMW to have it reset. What a bunch of B.S. , guess it's probably time to find a new garage

Perfect I always forget how to do this.... but when a dealer wants to charge you 180 for a filter and oil but you can do it yourself for 60 it's a no brainer

The module in the headliner were the roof antenna/3rd brake light is needs its battery replaced most likely. Easy job.

Try two or 3 more times, if it still say unsuccessful, them either a rodent chewed through one of your oil condition sensor wires or you have a bad oil condition sensor are the two main causes assuming you actually changed the oil

If the hood is open, hit the button once to clear the hood warning then proceed with the same process. Save yourself 15 minutes I will never get back unfortunately.
