Well, apart from a car and fingers, you really don´t need anything to do this reset. No fancy scan tool or computer, just a good strong finger.

I would check the oil pressure sensor first. It is rarely the oil pump or something major.

Hi. What type of oil is the best 4 this car? Ty
@drdragunov3 жыл бұрын
It´s a matter of taste, I guess. Castrol 5W40 works for me.
@MDavid33 жыл бұрын
@@drdragunov hmm i was using hby mistake 10w40 but I'm changing the oil and filter soon. I don't know if better 5.30 or 5.40 as u said. (I m in Israel its very hot here so maybe its matter he weather for the engine?(??
@drdragunov3 жыл бұрын
@@MDavid3 Both oils works. It is not a high tech engine like a BMW or Mercedes who demands absolutely the right oil to work as intended. The viscosity is important but even more important is that you use quality oil. Cheap oils burn and create carbon residue inside the engine and that kills it. Quality oils, like Castrol (Im NOT sponsored), Valvoline or Mobile One is very good to keep the engine clean. Viscosity depends on climate, that is true. Up here in north Europe I recommend a lighter oil for cold starts but in Israel the weather is warmer and not so many cold starts. My auto supplier usually has Castrol 5W40 on sale all the time so I use that for my Polo.

@@drdragunov and if the car was standing for almos a year bu t did only 9000 km since the last change oili its ok to wait? do u chang oil everery 10.000 km? TY again
@drdragunov3 жыл бұрын
@@MDavid3 Well, my thumb of rule is that 10.000 km or once a year, whatever comes first. Oils deteriorate over time, even just sitting around. You will probable have moisture inside the engine as well and that will burn off but I play it safe and always do an oil change when I pick up a car that has been sitting. For the first start up, you can use some kind of budget oil, just to get the engine running but then change again (oil AND filter) to high quality oil and you are good to go.
