Props to ANY young lady that can walk in stacks like that and not snap an ankle in half!

I was watching another video on Japanese foot wear and the guy said it takes 3 years to learn to walk this way apparently it they have to walk this way because of the shoes he said it takes a 10 min Walk and turns it in to a hour long walk

@jimmywalden1615 I can see why it takes 3 years! I can mentally hear the noise my ankle would make when I fouled up. It's a nasty snapping crunch I've heard before once, and never wish to again!

I had no clue they paraded so slowly. It makes sense since they are trying to draw attention to her. It seems they want everyone to take in as much visual stimulus as possible from the bright colors and rhythmical slow walk they do: which causes our brains to fixate on the slow movements. (Trust me when I say we have not lost our ability to identify slow moving stalking predators in the bushes) So it’s no wonder our eyes are seemingly “magically” forced upon her.

I visited Edo Wonderland when I vacationed in Japan in 2017. Fun for all ages. You can rent era specific costumes like samurai, farmer, etc. I learned how to make rice cakes and play the shamisen. They can teach you how to properly swing a katana sword. Spent about 4 hours there including 1 hour drinking sake!

Hello. I'm interested in seeing this Oiran parade, but I can't find much information on the internet. Could you tell me where exactly in Japan it occurs? I noticed that the video is dated July 29th, does it only happen on that day of the month or does it occur on other days in July?

This is at the Edo Wonderland in Nikko. It is a fun Ninja/Samurai town here is there web site edowonderland.net/en/ if you look at the schedule section it looks like its at 1:45pm (13:45) everyday. It’s a parade in Edo Wonderland. You have to look at the calendar of operation for the days they are open. I hope this helps.

That's the point, exaggeration. She was supposed to be worth the money investment and also be a role model for other women as the 'ideal' woman. So this was the top class standard, and these rich men paid for it.
