Translation:
One day, Fionn and his son Oísin were hunting in Kerry.
The army 'Na Fianna' were with them.
They saw a white horse coming. A lovely girl was on the horse. She has long, blonde hair.
She had a long, red dress. 'I am Niamh 'of the Golden Hair'.
I am from the Country of the Young. My dad is the King of the country. Tír na nÓg is a lovely country. Everyone is so happy there, nobody gets old there. Everyone there is always young.
Oísin looked at the lovely girl. He fell in love with her and she fell in love with him.
What is your name? 'Oisín is my name.' he said. 'Do you want to come to Tír na nÓg'?
I don't want to leave my own country or my dad but I would love to go with you.
Oísin said goodbye to his dad and the army. They were sad. Oísin went with her on the white horse. 'Bye!', 'bye', 'bye and goodluck' said Fionn.
The white horse flew across the sea to Tír na nÓg. Everyone in Tír na nÓg was young and happy.
They gave Oisín a great welcome.
Oisín married Niamh. They had three children. 2 songs and a daughter. Oisín really enjoyed Tír na nÓg. He spent three years there but after a while, he was lonely.
'I want to go to Ireland to see Fionn and the army!' he said. 'Ok, but be careful!". said Niamh.
'Take the white horse, but don't get off the horse! Don't put your foot on the land of Ireland. If you put your foot on the land, get will grow old. 'I'll be careful, goodbye my love' said Oisín. 'Bye and good luck!' said Niamh.
When Oisín arrived in Ireland, he didn't see Fionn or na Fianna anywhere (the army).
He saw two men working hard. They were trying to lift a big rock. 'The rock is too big'. 'Can you help?' 'Yes' said Oisin. Oisin was still on the white horse and moved the rock. Suddenly, he fell off the horse. He was lying on floor. The white horse left across the sea.
The men were surprised. 'Who are you?' said the men. 'I am Oisín, the song of Fionn!' said Oisín.
'But Fionn and the army have been dead for 300 years'. Oisín was very sad to hear they were dead. The men helped Oisín. He met a holy man, Saint Patrick.
Oisín told Saint Patrick the story. A short time later, poor Oisín died. He was a brave man because he died helping other people.
