Big ups to Robert Marawa for your brilliant interviewing skills. It wasn't an easy interview, OJ wasn't really opening up, but the way you probed and kept the interview going must be applauded 👏👏

What I took out of this interview was a hint of Self entitlement and a bit of Victim mentality coming from Mabizela. The mistakes that he did were because of 'circumstances' of others....

One of the best player we ever had in mzansi....Mabizela was just a natural talent.. We all make mistakes in life and Mabizela was no exception...I mean the guy was just 22 years old when he played for tottenham....I have made countless mistakes at that age....some of then are irreversible.. I wish him the best in life, in whatever he is currently or planning to do..

after watching this interview, i can now understand how hard things are for these players. its easier for us to be critical of them at the comfort of our seats but hearing what OJ is saying its really heartbreaking......all the best OJ

I think this was the hardest interview Robert Marrawa had to make.OG is honesty not into interviews he holds back and his tired of speaking openly Marrawa is trying so hard to get him talk but his not up to face the media...the media truly hurt OJ to his deepest heart. I feel for him
@sabelonxele52992 жыл бұрын
What I have gathered from this interview is: 1) He was under immense pressure 2) He was lonely as a youngster in a foreign country at a tender age 3) we the fans and media wanted more out of him and he disappointed the Nation 4) OJ still hasn't forgiven himself as he isn't wearing his shortcomings as a badge of honor 5) Being a Star is hardwork. People who aspire for stardom must know it comes with many sacrifices, you will lose your childhood, you have to be almost be like a robot, focus at performing at the highest level to keep the limelight. Development for me isn't only about Nuturing the talent or even physical aspect, its about psychology. Discipline is lacking in our sportsman, especially those that play football. I mean we could easily look at rugby and cricket, these sad stories aren't prevalent why? That's the big question! Also if you look at society as a whole we have a lot to deal with as blacks. All the best to him, he needs help though but mainly he needs to forgive himself.

You know if only in life we can stand up as individuals and stop pointing fingers at other people for our downfalls, then we can take steps in the right direction.Yes it's so said to see such a great talent that went down the drain just like that but he wasn't the only player that the media's spotlight was on back then.The likes of Benni and others also had problems with the media but look where they are now so let these former players stop this thing of theirs to blame other people for their own bad ways that they practiced because of fame and money by then.

But now hearing how did he feels and accept his mistake now I understand that something needs to be done to younger players when they get to the big league to guide them. To you OJ it may seemed to be an attack to you but it was all caused by the quality and ability of a player you were that time to be honest there is still no player like you yet. Misconception. You need people but not just anyone. When you find honest and loving community, there’ll be there with you nomatter the ups and downs. However if you collect “friends” who are after your money, you’ll enjoy it for a short period. Men need to learn to choose wisely and remain accountable. 😊 I know too many women who’ve stuck with men who are down and out. Stop this false narrative.

He made defending looked very easy, could play anywhere at the back and also slotted easily in midfield as an anchor, effective with both feet, could pass long and short, the only South African defender I saw that didn't kick the ball out when under pressure or going for the so called "Safety First defending rule". His tackles were clean and well timed, I'm glad I watched him playing for my beloved Orlando Pirates. ☠️☠️ Scored a scorched on his Debut for Tottenham, I remember him scoring a brace for Bafana Bafana playing as a midfielder in Bloemfontein, one of his goal was similar to the one he scored for Spurs. A Genius and a Legend 👏 .... Wishing him Peace
