I said it before when I finished the original game on PS2 and I'll say it again today, this game is MAGNIFICENT.

+mel b I'll answer that. personally I think it holds up incredibly well. the controls feel very fluid and responsive and they make sense for the game. (like you wont encounter some weird controls like press triangle to jump). with that said there are a few minor areas of the game that feel a bit dated. the opening is super long, though you can skip it. it has gibberish voice acting (think animal crossing) and some (once again very few) dungeons/sequences can feel a bit gimmicky. the combat, music, story, and characters are all top notch and still are amazing to play today. definitely buy this game! It's only $20 so it's not like you have much to lose

I remember my mum bought this for me when I was a freshman in hs , because she knew I like art and Japanese folklore , the entire experience was breathtaking. And one of the highlights of my earlier years, I will never forget after you beat the main story and the soundtrack and #artbook were unlocked , so many hours !!

I mean, this was an accurate statement: "'The PlayStation 2 exclusive Okami' was awarded the game of the year back in 2006." The game wasn't released on Wii until 2008, so, at the time of the 2006 review, it was still a PlayStation 2 exclusive. The phrasing could have been better, but it is not incorrect in its overall meaning.

I'm playing this for the first time on the Switch and this is easily one of those few games that deserve a 10. You wouldn't even notice that this came out in 2006. The music, graphics, story and gameplay have aged so flawlessly it's amazing.

Such a beautiful, engaging game that has aged really well. More so than many other games from the same time. It's a game that I feel perhaps deserves to be in the 'Play before you die' list of games, it's really well worth the time and money.

honestly the switch might be the best place for it. Not as a technical point or being the best way to play it but the game is closer to the type of game the main switch owner likes. People buy nintendo consoles and do like 3rd party support but they're not as interested in things like FIFA, COD etc they all sell much less on the system due to the type of gamers that own the console Okami being similar to the Zelda style would have a significant amount of sales compared to the Xbox One and *maybe* PS4 (mainly due to large difference in systems sold)

Okami has aged pretty well, both graphically and mechanically. I had just as much fun with this version as I did when I first played the game on PS2. Good game design never goes out of style!

The PS2-version was in 4:3, that's why there's the option. - But 16:9 is the new 4:3 if you ask me. After having 21:9, 16:9 feels way too "square", and I'd almost buy Okami on PC for that. But it is what it is.

I originally played Okami on Wii (with motion controls for the paintbrush that worked well) so I think it would work well on Switch, especially if they give touchscreen controls as an option

I have the original release, loved it. Only problem is the 'rolling ball up hill' puzzle. I was so annoyed that I left it and just completed the game. Sooo glad this now as multi-platform releases! It makes me wonder if it was this way before would it have would better.

I never actually had a chance to get into Okami because I never really used my PS2 plus it got lost and I was more into the GameCube(best of the main systems of that generation in my opinion) and Xbox, and my PS3 was stolen and I never got a new one so I didn't get to experience a lot of classic games that were released on those systems but now I have a PS4 so HD remasters like this will help me experience these games finally

I’ve seen this game in my game suggestions, but I thought it was something different then what I expected. If you search up Warrior cat map Legends Never Die, you’ll see a video with a white cat that has blood on it. It’s a random animation tribute, and before and after I knew what Okami was, I didn’t realize that it was in the animation tribute. I just realized when I was watching Seri play Mythic Ocean, people in the comments were talking about Okami, that’s when I realized the connection. # Watch Seri Pixel Biologist!
