I have been living in Japan for 4 years and travelled all up and down, have seen 26 prefectures (live in Okinawa so its a struggle to get to mainland frequently) and just visited Okayama for the first time two weeks ago. I am so happy to see someone else calling it the best place to visit in Japan. I feel exactly the same. It has the big city feel as some of the other major cities such as Kobe, Osaka, Fukuoka etc... but it still maintains the charm of a welcoming town. I really liked the benches, bathrooms, places to rest underground and around the center of the city, the castle and gardens, unlike Osaka and Tokyo there is places for people to rest and exist without having to purchase something. I really liked the fashion of the people I saw too. People were not just wearing subdued beige's and blues, down jackets in winter, they were wearing trench coats, parkas, greens, purples, I even saw leopard print XD It was so interesting seeing people truly express individuality in contrast to a lot of what I have seen across Japan.

I just stumbled upon your channel/this video and Okayama looks lovely! I‘ve been thinking about travelling solo to Japan this coming autumn and I‘ll definitely add Okayama to my list. I’m still just scared about travelling alone as I‘ve never done so in the past 🙈
