my parents grew up with jean michell jarre in france in the 70's and 80's. the record is so ahead of its time, but still i wouldn't have expected it to surface here what a small world.

The anime was fire, youtube is toxic all these "pro writers" saying the show only focused on the girl didnt inform on yasuke past and didnt have framing or writing are very wrong to me. The show was great subverted my expectations and the sound design was super tight thank you flylo cant wait to see you preform agsin live hopefully, dont retire the hypercube.

i agree. yasuke is a dope anime. i've also seen lots of unfair criticism. some of the plot points viewers said were "missing" are actually explained in the show smh. it's definitely a unique anime. i hope we get to see more.

Well, I for one thought the fantasy (and yes, the focus on the random girl) approach was a misguided step. Even though his (Yasuke) real story is a mystery, I felt they should’ve stuck with that and just given us a show without the fantasy and magic and mechas. But I guess they felt ”kids” wouldn’t have the patience for that or sth... 🤷🏾♂️ But in a way that’s odd too because they also recently did a show about the history of the samurais. The F. Lotus soundtrack is really good, though! 😀

@@ram-4 flying lotus said they went back and thought what they would want as teens and made that. Flying lotus and thundercat will be at pitchfork in Chicago on Sunday doing a live yasuke set. Yasuke gets us one step closer to multimedia hologram live festival movies. Flying lotus hypercube shows are always cool.

Im sorry but i have to dissagree, flying lotus carried the whole show, i noticed something was wrong by the 4th episode, it felt rushed and pushed , so much wasted potential.

Soundtrack was bomb. But I’m my opinion the anime was weak. Stretched itself too thin

Dope video. Cool getting to know what flying lo hears through his days. What I do hope y’all can do is when they show a song from the vinyl if there can be a better audio quality to hear the song. A short snippet would be fine. That’s my opinion, cool video

‘You’re Dead’ is a fantastic album (I have a prized vinyl copy). Truly progressive. And that’s coming from an old jazz/prog fan. Thanks for this.

I have long described You're Dead! as a "post-jazz masterpiece", hard to deny the jazz, prog, funk, fusion influences on that album. Flylo is for the people!
