- “27 років існує група “Океан Ельзи” і за цей час я не написав жодної пісні про Львів, хоча дуже хотів. Просто я не вмію писати пісень “на злобу дня”. Взагалі не вірю, що можливо так створити пісню, яка буде жити. А зараз у моєму житті той час, коли через різні обставини я по іншому усвідомив значення рідного Львова для мене. Коли ставлення до міста через роки викристалізувалось у тиху, але вічну любов. Коли ти просто розумієш, що це найкраще місце на Землі для тебе було, є і буде”.
- "Коли почав думати про колаборацію, з ким було б органічно записати таку пісню, з абсолютно львівським артистом, хто в мене теж асоціюється зі Львовом та ще й пісня від початку була акустичною, то уявити когось іншого, ніж “Один в каное”, було неможливо. Я їх поважаю і ціную, мені дуже подобається їхня творчість. І дякую Ірі та Устиму, що відгукнулись!"
Ірина Швайдак, “Один в каное”: “Я добре пам'ятаю, як Святослав казав, що написав цю пісню на одному подиху за дуже короткий час. Для мене, як авторки власних пісень, цей стан дуже знайомий і цінний. Пісні, які пишуться на одній хвилі зазвичай "дихають" від самого початку. Тож нашим основним завданням було не нашкодити: не змінити до непізнаваності, не згубити душі пісні, але відчути і підхопити той настрій, який в ній є”.

Hey Uncle Momo! In this song we have many hided senses. The lyrics are so deep. If you translate the lyrics you could not understand that what they mean. A river flows in Lviv. But now it is hidden in pipes under the whole city. And they singing about that - “We walk along the river, which doesn’t exist” Also, they convey the feelings that everyone who lives in Lviv feels. I will add a few cents from my side, I was born in Lviv (a Ukrainian city an author is singing about). This song is called city of the spring (from context I understood that by 'spring' he means his young years in Lviv). Lviv is an old city and is famous for coffee that Kulchytsky brought to Lviv (that is why there is coffee mentioned in lyrics). Lions are one of the symbols of Lviv. Also we have a river in the center of the city that is hidden under the ground (called Poltva), so our Lviv Theatre of Opera and Ballet is directly above this river. So in fact the author is linking the major associations from his life with associations of the city of his young years.

Surprisingly, I first heard this song from a recording of a concert that OE did a few hours ago in Lviv, and immediately fell in love with this song. Lviv is a city of lions and coffee, it has an extraordinary atmosphere and culture, the band Okean Elzy and many other bands started here. "On the bank of a river that does not exist" - because this river now flows underground. I haven't been to many places, but I know for sure that Lviv is the most beautiful place.
