Здравствуйте! Большое спасибо за этот урок!) Есть вопрос по предложению в тексте: "We talked for two or three hours". Почему здесь можно использовать время Past Simple, если указывается протяжённость (в течение 2-3 часов говорили)? Предложение "We were talking for two or three hours" передает такой же смысл?

Это, что называется, спорный случай. Выбор времени зависит от того, что вы хотите подчеркнуть. Если то,что это действие имело место (не важно, как долго оно длилось), то выбирайте past simple. если вы хотите выделить длительность, акцент на процессе, то выбирайте вариант past continuous

Спасибо за урок. А можно ли сказать так You will see it when you be on my ages вместо You will understand it when you ARE of my age. И почему тут ARE, a не BE? Спасибо. И еще- Мы разговаривали два или три часа, я бы сказала так We've been talikng for two or three hours, ошибки не будет?

We've been talikng for two or three hours - если вы до сих пор разговариваете, то это верно You will understand it when you ARE of my age - тут используются правила present simple, а не просто инфинитив

Добрый день! Всегда с большим удовольствием смотрю Ваши уроки, нахожу очень много полезного. Хочу обратиться за помощью :В одном тексте сбила с толку фраза "Ears up, lie watched the hole with bright eyes." как перевести здесь " lie", извините за беспокойство

lie - как будто "лежать" Плучается что-то типа "уши кверху, ляг и смотри в дырку яркими (широко открытыми) глазами" Это про животных, что ли?))

Да это текст неправильно распознан. Не может быть lie watched. Только если это ‘Ложь наблюдала’, но тоже неграмотно, уж тогда надо «the lie”. Или «лежи под наблюдением», watched - Participle 2, лежи как?, но тогда после него не может быть прямого дополнения, так как значение этого причастия - пассивное. Так серьезно разбираем, чтобы исключить все другие варианты, кроме ошибочного распознавания буквы h как li, характерного для дешевых перепечаток Мёрфи. Прочтём фразу в этом смысле: Ears up, he watched the hole with bright eyes. В излюбленной поклонниками Елены манере, переведём (как же вы говорить будете по-английски, все время себя с русского переводить?): Навострив уши, он смотрел на дыру/нору блестящими глазами.
