Oketo is a psychedelic indie jam band. They’re prone to experimental, ambient transitions between mournful choruses. Steven DeLair’s dynamic vocal delivery guides these transitions, bouncing back and forth from sultry falsetto to meandering monotone to savage growl while mirroring the song’s emotional flow. The remainder of the flamboyantly-dressed quintet provides saucy instrumental movements rife with pelagic, angled guitar riffs, pinging keyboard lines, and percussion that booms like an animal herd.
