I was born and raised in OKC and have lived here most of my sixty-one years. I've also driven Uber for the past five years. If an out of town passenger asks where to go for dinner, I tell them about Cattleman's Steakhouse. It's not fancy but it's honest and real. There is no slick veneer. There's a good chance your waiter or waitress has been wearing that signature tuxedo shirt and diamond knot tie for twenty or thirty years. During lunch, you might see cowboys with spurs on their boots coming over from the stockyards after dropping off their loads. The steaks are excellent, the prices are reasonable, the potato, salad, and roll are included, the people are friendly, and they have - without a doubt - the best damn coconut cream pie in the state. Cattleman's is the heart and soul of Oklahoma City.

Cattlemen's is only famous because it is located in the OKC Stockyards and George HW Bush ate there on his visit to OKC. It is old and dated inside and is overpriced for what you get. I know someone who was a cook there for many years and even he said don't eat there for reasons I won't say here. I would go to Texas Roadhouse before I would go to Cattleman's and get a better steak for 1/2 the price.

Ok… your list blows the other guys away! Frida’s is good and Jesse always took care of us when we went. My #1 now is Palo Santo! By far the best craft cocktails in the city! The Flannel Jacket is my fav. My wife loves the Spiced Daisy. Just to name a couple. Steve the very tall bartender is the best in the city and can make just about anything off menu if he has time. We order appetizers for our meal. Spicy Korean wings, street tacos, tomato bread and a salad. Not to mention the endless bowls of spiced popcorn while waiting. Halls Pizza is a fun experience as well and is right next door to Barrios. Hope this helps! Just Subscribed as well thx!
