This literally explained nothing other than the fact that we don't care too much about what the defense does. We just train our guys to out execute any defense.

He didn't want to give away too much. Of course he considers what the defence is doing. Otherwise he'd be a terrible playcaller. He's the best there is in cfb designing and calling offensive plays.This was just a cute piece. Nothing schematic.

Yea hate how they do that, urban meyer did a piece on his offense earlier and was basically just breaking down one simple base play that was something he ran at utah almost 20 years ago now and looks nothing like the game today. every air raid piece always just goes to the 4 verts play, which from what I know isn't exactly unique to the air raid anyway.

Stoops was right to force Riley to utilize a running game. That was always a weakness in the old Tech offenses. Tech might be up 6 in the 4th quarter with 4 minutes to go and Tech would sometimes lose those games bc they couldnt pound the ball and run out the clock…..and they couldnt stop someone on defense. Leaches teams were primarily about outscoring their opponents.

Obviously we know he can win with hurts. I think he could also find a way to make the offense easier for wentz, if we go with him. Plus he likes to run the ball more than most air raid coaches, which could maximize sanders’ potential. If we get his coaching style, plus a number 1 wideout in the draft like Ja’marr chase or DeVonta Smith, we just might have something.....

@runnerxc2125 жыл бұрын
@@slugmaster64 nope.. even offensive coaches like Harbaugh, gus malzahn and others are offensive coaches but dont call the plays. Most coaches when you specialize in something you stick to it and he does not specialize in defensive and it's up to the AD to hire someone who can control the defense, hence why alex grinch has full control.
@slugmaster645 жыл бұрын
Ryan Bedgood the assistants on the staff are brought in by the coaches. If you think Riley has no say in who schemes his defense, you’re out of your right mind
@runnerxc2125 жыл бұрын
@@slugmaster64 you're not wrong. He did have a say in hiring apex grinch but he didnt have a say in the last one. The AD fired stoops mid season and had to find someone soon. The defense was bad before he got there. He and the AD went out to get grinch and he has turned it around. Ultimately you're just trying to find the bad out of a guy who doesnt control the offense. Now if grinch fails and gets nowhere with the defense you can say it was a bad hire on his part. However its irrelevant to his offensive prowess.
