Oklahoma! My all time favorite unknown band that should have been on the charts. Like Stillwater, they got lost in the end of the Southern Rock era as just another band. A most unfortunate fate. However, I would like to know what happened to the members of the band. Did any of them go on to record with other bands? Or did they just fade into obscurity? I re-recorded the original album to digital and resampled it so it sounds awesome. When it comes up on one of my playlists, people who hear it always comment on how clean and crisp their sound was, and wonder why the band didn't record more albums.

Thank you so much for posting this entire album❣️❣️ The artists didn't even post them all. At 16-17, I got to know the lead guitarist, Donny I called him, at my friend's garage for over a year before I heard him play. I was blown away. Found the album in Hawaii 8 years later, recorded it on cassette in Alaska & over 50 years later still think he is one of the cleanest picking guitarists I've ever heard. First time I heard a guitar cry & from one of the shyest, quietest, sweetest boys I've ever met. Blown away🤯 🌈Many mahalos for this posting 🥰🤙🏾 God bless your ❤️

You're in Oklahoma, I'm assuming. I agree about this album!! I just posted my reply then I saw yours & just HAD to say hey. OKC in l970 was THE best place this 16 year-old could have wished for. Music, acid & friend's. Bonaparte's was where I worked & hung out most of the time & Paseo Avenue (avenue/drive?) was the hippie cruise. Great memories ... I'm glad you like this band formerly known as Ringes. I don't feel so alone in that now. I still love this band. Oh ... Try Willie K for a great singer/guitarist from Hawaii... Try Heart Aching Blues, Spirit in the Wind ..... Well ... Peggy Dale is a public playlist of mine & has more. Anyway enjoy life thru music cuz it may wind down "Ain't it Sad" 🌈🥰🤙🏾❤️

I live in a small Oklahoma town now and have lived in Oklahoma since I was 16 although born in Fort Worth, Texas, but nothing beats Oklahoma in my opinion. My parents were born in 1960 and grew up in Moore, OK and my dad especially thought me what real music was as a kid and now in my adult life I can further broaden my horizons. My favorite musical era is the late 60’s-70’s. In fact you are right about my dream age because of what your childhood and adolescence and even early adult years were like. My parents worked at Bonanza in the mid to late 70’s and early 80’s don’t know if you have heard of that restaurant before. ✌️🎸❤️

@@sooner9971 Nice to meet you. I was born in Odessa, Texas in 1954 where I lived until almost 16 (- 2 in Houston). Then it was OKC - Dec 1969 - my driver's license, a job & my own apt. Yee-Haw. I hung out with Kenny & his friends at his grandfather's garage, working on cars, watching him practice his jury-rigged church organ he played in bars. Don Juntunen was one of those guys that floated through the garage. I worked a lot & he was quiet, so I never even knew he played until he was asked to join Ringes in his senior year (1971). We went to see him at the Long Branch Saloon & when he played "The Messiah Will Come Again" (Roy Buchanan - A Street Called Straight version has a great intro) I felt that guitar absolutely cry. Donny's fingers seem to express all his emotions ... that's all that moves ... like lightening. What a trip ❣️ Made me a groupie for life & most of my best concerts were in OKC. I love Oklahoma, too. My cousin's live in Krebs (outside McAlister) & I stayed there for 1½ yrs before escaping the humidity to Tucson. Love the people in Oklahoma❤️ Then & now. What small town do you live in now? I'm moving back to my heart home ... Hawaii next summer. Lived there for 37 yrs (-2 in Alaska). I homesick & the family I'm closest to died off here died off, too. Except in Krebs. It's a bummer to outlive all your closest friends & relatives. Hard to trust folks, these days, but better than joining them😏 I've got some great suggestions for music. Have you checked Willie K out yet? Try Brother Noland, too ... "Magic Planet" is special. Give me feedback & some suggestions & I'll see what else I could recommend you might enjoy. Looking forward to seeing what your dad turned you on to. And what you've discovered since. If your game. @@pegwiles5527 Wow you have had some great adventures. Don is truly one of the greatest guitarists I’ve heard and easily the most underrated in the history of music in my opinion. He should have notoriety like Carlos Santana or Eric Clapton. I actually have a lot of suggestions but instead of listing them and boring you here is my Top 250 favorite bands/artists of all-time. It's incredible, I heard this album in Caracas, Venezuela... I liked so much back then, but faded into oblivion. 44 years later I remembered it and searched for it and found it here. What a great treat! Thanks for posting.
